The VT and ECU games are flipping dates in 2031 (ECU is the 6th, Tech is the 20th as of now), ODU is getting $1,500,000 (and 2,000 tickets) to go to South Carolina in 2024, $1,300,000 (and 500 tickets) to go to Indiana in 2025.

Also, ODU has signed a two-year H&H contract to play UCONN. The games are scheduled for 10/31/2026 in Norfolk with the return 09/25/2027 in East Hartford. If UCONN breaches the contract by discounting football or dropping to FCS (both rumored at various times) then they owe ODU $750,000 for each game they can't play.

Great info. I like those big paydays, and I like playing UConn as well. Its a name school that can still draw interest, but one we should be able to win. It should also count as an FBS win. If we schedule an FCS game that year too, we should make it out of the non conference with at least 2 wins, making a bowl season far more attainable.

That UConn series would make a lot of sense given the years/locations mentioned. Did you file FOIA requests on your own? Or was this information picked up somewhere else?

Yep, filed it and received all contracts looking forward. Everything else in Post #1 looks current as of now.

Those games are four and five years out. Who knows what either team will look like then?

I hope you dont mind, but I made a graphic for the non-conference schedule and the updates you provided and made sure to give you credit.

The OOC schedules through 2024 look really good. Challenging and teams we want to play and can/should have good games against.

When we moved up I was hoping we'd get games against VT and ECU sometimes, and we will surely get our fill of them. Army and Liberty as well. As long as they are good games and we win our fair share, Im happy with that. Im really looking forward to that first win over the Pirates.

Are we not playing FCS teams any longer? It seems crazy not to get a guaranteed win that counts towards bowl eligibility.

Would imagine an FCS will complete the 2025, 2027 and 2028 schedules, assuming their isnt a large push to stop playing FCS in FBS.

We have a standing home and home with JMU for at least the foreseeable future

Not really directed at you, but we seem to get criticized if we play FCS and if we don't play FCS.

FWIW, I have no problem playing 1 FCS team. Especially if its one that is interesting like WM, Richmond, NSU, Hampton, Campbell. Its a great tune up or opportunity to get guys extra field experience, try out new plays etc. And most importantly, in most cases should get us 1 win closer to bowl eligibility.

Per FOIA request: ODU has signed an agreement to play Norfolk State at home on September 5, 2026. The agreement was signed last week.

Dang, a week turnaround time on an FOIA request is pretty quick.

The 2026 schedule so far:
09/06 - Norfolk State
09/12 - at Virginia Tech
10/31 - UConn

Glad to see us scheduling an FCS again. With how difficult our OOC schedules are for the next 7-8 years, and now our tough Sun Belt schedule, we need to give our guys a fighting chance for bowl eligibility. That extra win against a FCS might be the difference. There are several years coming up where we will likely be the underdogs in every OOC FBS game we play. And going at least 6-2 in conference every season is a tall order when you play App, Marshall, JMU, GaSo, CCU and GSU every year.

Wake Forest's Sam Hartman has entered the portal. If he leaves, we will avoid having to play against him next year.
