Whatever it takes. Doesn’t matter the method, the tactic, or approach. Russia is #1 in the crosshairs and unless they submit, the aggression against them will continue forever. And most Russian people know it.
The sad part is, their resistance and suffering is probably what is saving us. They’re a big piece of the puzzle and once it is attained, he’ll could really be let loose on us. Russia seems to be a sort of governor that stops them from running so fast they blow apart.
India might play along enough to avoid the same fate for now. China could then be their sole focus.

Woe is me for Russia. Cry me a river for the aggressors who look more like Italy in N Africa in WW2 than a pretender Superpower who repeatedly says we will use our Nukes after the war doesn’t go as planned. Amazing the Russian’s version of Blitz Kreig looks more like a rag tag volunteer army of undisciplined make shift soldiers.
Now reports are coming out that Ukraine is taking back territory lost earlier in the war. Time to get your crying towel out and explain to the world how unfairly the Russians are being treated. Give us all a break. I personally will only get 10 hours of good sleep worrying about it.

No wonder we’re screwed. This topic comes up and the next response is someone quibbling about retaking a village in Ukraine. Penny wise and pound foolish. 60 billion to the money laundering capital of the world and we dont have baby formula FFS. And people here are clapping about a billion dollar mile of ground.
The American people don’t even deserve what the rich have let trickle down anymore. We’re collectively too stupid to be in charge of money.

Unfortunately, I don't see how the U.S. avoids not putting money into Ukraine if we want the world to continue to use the U.S. dollar as the world currency. If we step back and Europe fills the breech - and succeeds - then the new world currency will become the Euro.

with the current *regime in place, that’s tough to argue if certain states don’t fix their voting laws …
if they do, I call bs … the US is too resource ‘rich’ coupled with the nations heavily invested in the USD…

The resources in the U.S. does put a floor for how low the U.S. can go. Plus we aren't as linked to the whole trading system as most of the other developed nations. That said, we did get a number of perks with the dollar being out there as you pointed out in the past.
Regardless, I think U.S. hegemony is going away. It may not be replaced.

With this war, Russia is costing everybody on the planet money. They will perhaps create a famine in Africa. Russia needs to be stopped from their aggressions as quickly as possible and taught the costs of more aggression is a bigger price than they can pay. Obama failed to do anything in 2014 and now we are paying the price.

The euro isn’t not likely to be the worlds reserve currency. It will be a big player, and the USD will be a player. But the floodgates of countries using their own local currencies in bilateral trade is open and it’s not closing.
It doesn’t mean the immediate end of the USD. It means the end of printing money indefinitely, the end of free money, the end of taking a cut of the transaction every time 2 countries anywhere in the world trade.
The good thing is, capitalism works better than anything, so we’ll be free to experience it. The highs, the lows, the full spectrum of enfettered goodness! We’re leaner, we’re meaner, we’re 6 Sigma Certified and we know how to code. Currency manipulation and war profiteering was beneath us anyway. Now we can get back to more pure form of capitalism and show those commies who’s boss. Right?

I'm game. Not a single country in the world can get close to competing with the U.S. on a macro scale in true free markets. Always will be manipulators and cheaters but the dominance would be so strong it wouldn't even matter.
Lol I get your point though. The world financial system more than faaacked.

Russian TV, once trying to make a laughing stock of the old women they are blowing to bits in the Ukraine, have all of the sudden gone down a new path. It seems now that they have realized that their third world economy can not sustain a long drawn out war. They also are admitting that the west has better, more modern weapons. Possibly the reason Putin did not declare all out war on Victory Day. And to top it all off they are trying to crowd source drones that they will, get this, import through Ukraine because of the sanctions. The Russian propaganda is cutting edge hilarious!

A Russian armored battalion is on the bottom of a river today. Attempted a mass crossing during daylight and a cheap drone sent precise coordinates to howitzers many miles away. Modern warfare is changing in real time yet the Russians are using 75 year old methodology.

Saw one article saying they were using the meat grinder approach. Just keep throwing men at the front lines and try to get breakthroughs. WWII tactics. But they had many more men than Germany. Saw one estimate that 20 million men served in the Red Army and half ended up casualties.
They are making some progress, but very slow and very costly.

Because the entire rationale for this war was always fake. This is about Putin fancying himself as a modern Catherine the Great. Ukrainain lives dont mean anything to Putin. The lives of Russian speaking Ukrainians dont mean anything to Putin (he's blowing them and their homes to pieces even as we speak). How do I know Russian lives dont mean anything to Russian leaders? Just look at how this war has played out. Anyone that gave a crap about their own Russian soldiers would have made sure they had a good plan, enough to eat, and plenty of fuel. Instead, Putin seems content to just order 18 year old Russian conscripts in old cheap poorly made tanks to soak up Javelins like pin-cushions in a sick gamble that the Ukrainians will run out of anti-tank missiles before he runs out of apparently worthless young Russians. After watching 3 months of this war, does anyone really think he cares about Russian speakers in Ukraine? Anyone stupid enough to buy that line of crap deserves what he gets.

He's probably killed many thousands of ethnic Russians in places like Mariuopol.

Virtually the entire region he's invaded--with perhaps the exception of the areas just north of Kyiv---were all regions where there was a heavily ethnic Russian population---in some cases---these areas were a majority ethnic Russian. So, he's likely killed tens of thousands of the exact Russian speakers in Ukraine he was supposedly sooooooo very concerned about. Like I said---he doesnt give a flying fig about Russian speakers or his own people. He only cares about making sure he has a legacy that fits his vast vanity.

Not until Russian military or what’s left of it is back within the Russian border.
