Wow, looking HARD to find some good news.

Bottom line: Rice is a BAD football team. it doesn't have to be. With a different offensive scheme, it might actually be competitive, at least in CUSA. But it doesn't have a different offensive scheme, and it is not competitive in CUSA.

I was thinking of it this way today. My first two years at Rice, the football team was 2-8. But that included wins over TexasU and LSU, and last-minute losses to #2 UCLA and SWC champion SMU. Four conference moves later (SWC to WAC-16 to Leftover WAC to CUSA to Leftover CUSA), at least three of which were steps down, and Rice is winning one more game per year. I'm guessing this team would not win a game against the schedules that either of the two 2-8 teams faced.

But hey, we do have new logos.
