State Final Four HS Volleyball
Our local high school team (Ridge Point) is back in the Final Four (they also made it in 2018 and 2019). There are no Rice girls connected to the current team (I think they have players going to Colorado, Louisville, Ole Miss and some others?), but Rice does have Nia McCardell from Ridge Point, and they could easily get another recruit down the road from there.

Bridgeland is in the other Final Four semifinal Friday night. Isn't that where Ginny Volpe's daughter goes? They have a 5-6 sophomore libero named Alice Volpe. Unfortunately, her mom will miss her daughters' state tournament because the Owls will be in Virginia for the CUSA tournament.

ETA - yes, that's definitely Genny's daughter. Congrats to Alice for making the Final Four. They beat The Woodlands in a 5-set thriller to make it there.

Brandeis wins the fourth set over Bridgeland 25-21 and the match. The Broncos will face Fort Bend Ridge Point or Keller in Saturday's 6A final at 5 p.m.

Brandeis won the state title over Keller.

BTW, in the TAPPS 5A state final four, Fort Bend Christian won the title. Freshman Bayleigh Minor made the all-tournament team (she's the daughter of Deion and Claudia [Haywood] Minor).

And how did I not know until this weekend that the San Antonio Northside ISD names all of its high schools after current or former Supreme Court Justices?

FIFY.

Also, Bayleigh is an outstanding track and field athlete.
