Can we have a non-App/CCU person opine on the crew?

Personally I thought they botched a few big ones in CCU's favor early, especially the DPI (clearly an OPI) that set up one of their first scores. When we had to run three goal line plays in a row two of them were clearly TDs, one called short, one finally called a TD. They also let the clock run ten seconds off during our hurry up before the half, but I was so mad about the poor clock management by our coaching staff I didn't find it that important.

It seemed more fair in the second half. All-in-all not the worst crew I've seen in this league.

I don't see how any human being with two eyes and a basic concept of football could watch that game and come away thinking the refs helped App state in any respect. Just pure crybaby talk. Utterly unreasonable.

I was only closely paying attention to ref calls early on, but the no call on DPI on that pass to Hennigan was borderline. You could have called it either way and been justified. I was surprised to see Hennigan not get a UC for headbutting the Coastal defender after the play though.

It was obvious based on the first UC being called a few drives later that the refs were trying to get a hold of some of the chippiness in the game.

I did think the fumble that wasn't a fumble was a TD more than a completion short of the goal line though.

It did seem like App wasn't getting the same kind of calls we typically see when they're the team in the position Coastal was last night though.

Testament of a good league though. The SEC usually beats up on themselves year in and out. Bama is usually just that much better than everyone else, heck they even loss this year.

Just got back from Boone and home in Atlanta. I've been going to App football games since 1972 and that is about as electric an atmosphere as I've ever seen at The Rock/Kidd Brewer/Conrad stadium. Congrats to both teams for playing a hell of a game and thumbs up to the App student section and Miller Hill for being loud and staying to the end. I believe the 12th man can make a difference.

Yeap. GS did the same to App State in 2019 for the NY6 as we just did to CCU this year. We were 13-1 that year, 2 P5 wins, SBC champions, etc. It does feel bad for sure.

Did anyone catch what Kornheiser and Wilbon said about App/Coastal today on their rundown? I couldn't listen at that exact moment and wasn't watching on a cable box with DVR.

Being at the game last night, I can say Mccall is a great QB and i think his style of play will do good in the NFL, but overall CCU is over rated, and it was a great win for APP, that's all. Oh yeah nobody likes Gallagher for what he DM'd to Brice.

As an App fan, I feel like I can always point to this as why a high school football player should choose App over __ (name any G5 school) __ in the country. Don't know of any other G5 program that's not currently going to the Big 12 that has the gameday fan support we do.

Re: cannibalizing ourselves

The SEC is the best P5 league because every team is tough and every week is a crucible. We should strive to have that kind of strength at multiple schools at the same time. And as a league we should strive to have regular challengers to enter that club. Looking at you Red Wolves, Eagles, and Panthers.

I knew my crying jordan beach chicken would misinterpret me as a fan of that STD-ridden community college.

I only post when I drink. Currently watching the Walt Disney version of the game I watched last night from 211.

Officiating looks far more horrid from a television as far as thug-related penalties.
