Would have thought a CCU fan would have been excited to start the official thread, not on the smack board.

I imagine CCU will be favored by 4 after Apps egg last week.

Can App’s dline create pressure which it failed to do last week will be the biggest question for App. Can CCU stop the run and will Peoples finally get healthy?

I think this will hinge on our pass D. We all know both teams will put up points, but Coastal has been playing very soft against the pass and we've given out tons of third and longs this season. App is far and away the best team we've faced, so I'm not really sure what to expect.

I can see us dropping this game for sure if some things don't go out way. No way App isn't furious after the loss to Louisiana.

A lot of it is going to hinge on if App’s QB plays as bad as he did Tuesday. There were about 4 long pass plays where the App WRs had ULL DBs beat by over a yard, but Brice overthrew them by a yard or more. If that continues, it’ll be another long day for App. I’m willing to bet it won’t happen though and Brice will probably have a career day.

Coastal will score as much as they want. I really don’t see any scenario in which we win this game.

App is at home. They'll be looking to come out strong and play well, even moreso coming off of a bad performance. Coastal will have to be composed, ready and play sharp to win. App is a good team. Jamey and Coastal knows that.

App will play way better than they did at ULL. I expect a close, back and forth game but if we don’t come ready we will get rolled.

App couldn’t play any worse.

I assume the conference should be pulling for CCU, two ranked teams in the CCG would be nice, but of course I hope that doesn’t happen.

I'd be a lot more confident about this one on the Surf Turf. Im in full agreement, with this assessment. Defensive stops will be needed in a game like this on the road. Not asking for them to shut App out but they have to get enough stops to take pressure off the offense. We'll focus greatly on the run, which is why we need some clean physical coverage on the back end. I hope we're capable of it.

Boy, you guys woodsheded us last week, but it was so bad that I think our players can put it out of their minds. We are a better team than that. We get a chance to erase that memory completely and take control of our destiny in the East and set up a rematch if we win at home on Wednesday. I honestly don’t know how the team will respond, but I have a feeling we match up better with CCU than UL.

Long term: we need to get bigger in OL and DL to solve for UL and P5 schools going forward. We need to hold up better in the trenches in order for our offense to hang with a big, strong DL.

Fun fact App has won six of seven and the wins have been be an average of 21.

Newer fans likely don’t remember the FCS and playoff games. CCU had some great offensive players back then, the defense held them back.

I can't speak for every CCU poster here, but I think the large majority of the posters here remember those days. Y'all were like a mythological monster in my eyes when we played y'all. We didn't just lose, we got eaten alive.

I would have loved to see what our #1 ranked FCS team could have done against y'all's #1 FCS teams.

Yes indeed. GEAUX APP!!!

Those 2006-2007 teams were some of the best ever at that level. I still enjoy watching those games.
