RE: G5 Conference Finances (Great Info)
You guys want to discuss which programs should be added over others, but then play victim when it comes to metrics on the field if your team doesn’t measure up to others.
Only GA St from the SBC is under consideration for the AAC and there are mixed messages coming out of ATL. But I believe if they are asked they go as will 1-3 CUSA programs. Then we’re going to find out which conference poaches who.

This is flawed logic. Those are schools CUSA choose over App not schools that made it possible. App, GS and GA St would have all moved to the FBS at the same time either way.

That's the thing these are not "FB" only decisions. If they were Boise should've been playing alongside with Bama and Georgia well because they out performed almost all G5 and even most of the P5's during their hay day.

You play victim when it comes to Conference USA proving to have a better OVERALL Sports product that pulled 5 schools out and allowed you guys to back into the Slum Belch from the SuckCon. Crapp State didn't have the nads to move to 1-A without a conference home.
Middle Tennessee is actually the last public school to move up to Division 1-A without a conference lined up.

RE: G5 Conference Finances (Great Info)
App was going to be a member of CUSA or SBC either way is my point. Both conferences were going to have 10-12 members and there wasn’t a scenario App wasn’t going to be included in those groups.
Also I do realize conference alignment is more than football, but you have to agree football is by far the biggest driver.
I said App would have been the strongest add with hindsight. Unsure how this is controversial. You can argue things on the edges here but the results speak for themselves if you look at them objectively.

You have no proof Conference USA would've added Crapp State

I do, it’s called math. If SBC members didn’t go to CUSA App, GS, and GA St get the call.

UTEP
UTSA
North Texas
Rice
(Tulsa)
Louisiana Tech
Southern Miss
UAB
Georgia State
(East Carolina)
I see one that could get the call. East Carolina would block Crapp State.
They go to an 8- member conference, and they would've been fine.

Cute to pick 2015 as your year, and guess it depends on what you determine as "outperformed." In terms of national relevancy, Marshall has spent more weeks in Top 25 than App. Yeah you have more championships which is mainly because you play in the lowly SBC. You guys wouldn't have touched the following CUSA teams:
2014 Marshall
the two WKU teams with Doughty
FAU with Kiffen

Its sad that they have been playing FB for almost 100 years and they have to measure dicks with a bunch of decade old programs esp this saint guy i don't know what his deal is but ******* annoying like a pompous *****.
clt says hit ignore on any non cusa poster. Much better.
i like some posters from other conferences though they bring some good points to discuss and fresh perspective but these app guys are the worst. Always bragging about their FB which we all know takes one bad hire to go south. These mountain clowns are unbearable at times.
Three coaches since 2018, still hasn't happened yet. At least our program didn't lose an entire season. Have fun w/Rahne. One of the worst O Coordinators Penn State has ever had.

App State only has one win over a ranked Power 5 Conference school in the history of their program. Their only win over a Power 5 Conference school above .500 since their move to 1-A was in 2019 over UNC-Chapel Hill, who backed into a 7-6 record because a bowl win over..... Temple.

You forgot Georgia Southern. Or maybe you blocked that game from your mind due to the trauma. Bowl game tie ins for CUSA were established decades ago. Eventually things shift. We'll see in another 10 years if the CUSA can reclaim past glory or will the SBC continue its upward march.
One question regarding media deals, do they pay per team or just a lump sum and the conference figures put how to disperse it? It makes sense that the media deal is overall more for CUSA with 4 more teams. I think that changes with the new deal for the SBC, bit we'll see.

The per school total conference revenue (not just from media) is higher per school even with 14 members.
Bowl games? The conference has tie-ins with bowls that didn't exist decades ago in any capacity and has more primary bowl ties than the Sun Belt. In 2012 you only had two primary bowl tie-ins in the Belch, and Belch fans in Louisiana and Arkansas b****ed because 5 former members decided to leave--former members, who have been shut out of bowl season over the years with really good records for teams that were geographically closer.

That wasn't the question. At least for the CFP money the SBC gets more overall and per member. The media deal will also be more for SBC teams, the only advantage is the NCAA credits that will slowly phase out.
GS didn't even enter the SBC until 2014. So WE didn't have any bowls in 2012. So from 2013 to today the SBC went from 2 to 5. What has the CUSA done? It also doesn't change that most of the great bowls games were established when the CUSA looked more like the former AAC. And while some of those are in nice destinations, they aren't fan friendly. Hawaii? Bahamas? Sorry I like Orlando, New Orleans, and Mobile. Also 5he others are easy for fans to travel to for the day or weekend.
Again we'll see if the SBC can keep moving forward or will it drop back down. The CUSA has been on a steady decline and there is constant complaints from your members.
