Thank you for doing that, AM.

I think the new field looks good.

Also seems the wall is nearly completely covered in fron of the new EZF.

I agree about pressure-washing the concrete, as well as I'd like them to paint the lower walls with something other than plain gray. I actually miss the sine waves, and think we should have kept that look at it really made the setting come alive more visually.

There's a new 30' Rice Texas flag that they'll have during pregame festivities this year. I saw it on Facebook.

Thanks Almadenmike. It's actually a 30 yard flag. Very nice. I think it's a perk for season ticket holders. There's also a fan tunnel to greet the team. Anyway, I hope it helps sales. It's definitely a good way to get the fans engaged in the gameday experience. Kids love that stuff.

RE: HRS / EZF Athletics Construction Thread
Why does it bother me so much that the flag in the image is only slightly bigger than 25 yards, rather than 30? Judging by the yard markings in the image, that is.

Or is each "yard" in the image actually 1.2 yards? Unconventional wisdom indeed!

Alas, the graphic artist didn't quite get the background right for the field, showing the flag only covering 25 yards of field. 03-shhhh

I still like the idea they are going for.

For sure. The pregame festivities needed a little flare. This helps. I hope the fan tunnel is a hit. It would be nice to have a hundred fans or so greet the team as they take the field.

Those lumps under the flag - the lumps you can barely see?

The soccer field looks really worn too. Is it a player hazard? Any plans of replacing it soon?

Unless they stopped doing it recently, the concrete on the lower level gets pressure washed each year and takes about a day to complete one section. Odds are they will start working on it this week.
