To answer Hernando Hills Tiger concerning Whites attending typically "Colored" only activities during the "Jim Crow" era ....... it happened a lot more frequently than you would think.

As an example:

I don't remember the Goodwinslow house, I grew up in Frayser, bicycled all over Raleigh and worked at Rodney Baber.

I think you're confusing it with former Police Chief E. Winslow (Buddy) Chapman, who took office in 1976 and served until 1983. He's currently Executive Director of CrimeStoppers.

This is his childhood home & his current home. That's where the "Goodwinslow" name comes from.

Back when I was a teen, the Vanderschaaf's lived on Lakewood (Just west) , if I remember correctly.

I was speaking of Claire and Pat in the 70's/80s (but It may have been where Xman eventually resided as well).
