Do they play anyway and tell everyone on both teams "sorry, your health doesn't matter to us as long as we have a chance to make a NY6 bowl"? A chance that as it happens, they wouldn't have gotten anyway since Cincy beat Tulsa and would have stayed ahead of Coastal and therefore received the NY6 bid.

How did the Cajuns play (and beat) Ga Southern with almost 30 players out due to cover?

How did OSU play their conference game with 22 players out?

How did CCU not have to pause football activity with all the DANGER posed by one "positive test"?

Not sure ya'll had almost 30 out. I know ya'll were down some but I didn't think it was that many.

Again, no repercussions for holding team meetings without mask or social distancing? I just don’t understand how that isn’t merit for at least a forfeit. Covid Carolina couldn’t field a DL due to their irresponsible ineptitude.

Team was given the all clear WEDNESDAY afternoon. Covid tests came in Wednesday during the day. Our football team traveled to Conway and settled into their hotel.

2 negatives in 3 days is the protocol. We could have played Sunday.

When will the excuses stop?

Not making excuses. Simply saying it was not the league office that made the call and it's not a conspiracy. CCU cancelled due to contact tracing of an entire position group which is one of the criteria in almost every conference for not being able to play and/or not being "forced" to play regardless of overall number of positives.

Unless I’m mistaken this entire position group could have played had they worn mask and socially distanced during these meetings. How is that not a Conference call on a forfeit?

So every player on every team every week wore masks and socially distanced in every meeting in every roommate situation and every day at practice and it was ONLY CCU that chose not to? Yeah, I call BS.

I wish the game would have been played too. But if the conference came out and said that our one and only undefeated team "forfeits" their game and causes them to "lose" a game and drop in the polls we would be a laughing stock even more than we are now.

I get that you wanted an opportunity to revenge the earlier loss and elevate your own team. If it were GS, I would have wanted the same thing. It's just not that grand of a conspiracy. It's a shame that it happened, but it is what it is.

You're right. It's not a grand conspiracy. Coastal and Gill tried to position themselves for a NY6. It' pretty damn simple.

Cajuns crying. You poor poor babies. You know what. You should have beat them the first time but as usual you are incapable. Poor weedle Cajuns are never gonna win an outright championship. All the cancellation did was keep you from getting beat again. Poor weedle Cajuns...boo hoo. Boo hoo. Lol.

I agree but how do you let a team that should be quarantined for 10-14 days accept a bowl bid for Saturday at least try to get them a bowl at a later date.

They were traced to their coach in the meeting. Had they worn a mask the game would have been played. At the end of the day it’s on Covid Carolina. That’s all. Just wear a mask in team meetings.

The apocalypse is upon us when State, Southern, and App fans become United in squashing conspiracy theories. It was an unfortunate turn of events. No team actively seeks Covid, or thinks their personnel will be the ones that will be compromised. It’s happened all over the country. My main concern was more with the commissioner not being more present during the season to talk up our conference and level of play. Canceled games are just 2020 for ya. Win the games you play.

Not playing the championship game screw all of us. You play the game if Cincinnati loses your champion is pretty much ashore the NY6 game. If coastal and Cincy wins coastal has an outside shot as an at-large team. If coastal loses and Cincy wins you are still in the two bowls you are in now. So what did we have to lose except great exposure and credibility?

I disagree.

The CFP Committee moved Cincinnati up from #9 to #8, jumping over Georgia, even after Cincy barely beat #23 Tulsa.

If #12 Coastal beats #19 Louisiana, I would have to think Coastal probably moves ahead of Indiana and Iowa State, and is ranked #10 with an at-large NY6 bid.

Now, if Coastal would have thrashed Louisiana, then I undoubtedly believe they move into the Top 10.

How bad is your problem if you can accept a bowl bid a day after the championship game was supposed to be played. My comment was not a dig at Covid Carolina it just what did the conference have to lose. SBC had a special year and we threw it all away by canceling the biggest game of the year. Name another year where anybody outside of the SBC cared about our championship game.
