I definitely would...
Elliot has not been nearly as efficient and he has put the ball on the ground.
Are you being serious?
From a fantasy perspective, I've been following Zeke's career since he was drafted. (I have him in a keeper league. Drafted him his rookie year) This has been his worst year by far. He was struggling before Prescott got hurt.
Let's not get crazy! Zeke is still Zeke. And he's 25 yo.
LEADING RUSHERS
2017/2020 PROJECTED/AGE
Hunt 1,327/1,030 (25)
Gurley 1,305/978 (26)
Bell 1,291/245 (28)
McCoy 1,138/0 (32)
Ingram 1,124/464 (30)
Howard 1,122/105 (26)
Gordon 1,105/837 (27)
Fournette 1,040/488 (25)
Anderson 1,007/0 (29)
Elliott 983/1080 (25)
- 8 out of 10 in 2017, 29 and younger
- 5 out of 10 in 2017, 26 and younger
- 2 out of 10, higher yards per carry than 2017, Fournette on pace for 47% of his production and Ingram on pace for 41% of his production
- 7 out of 10 in 2017, 26 or younger
- 9 out of 10 in 2017, 27 or younger
- 10 out of 10 in 2020, 26 or younger
- 8 out of 10 in 2020, 25 or younger
Running backs usually don't slowly become less productive. When they lose it, it doesn't take much time. Once they hit over the age of 26, they usually have a short shelf life.

RE: Tony Pollard had a nice 42 yard TD run for COWBOYS
As an aside....Antonio Gibson may be out for the rest of the season due to a toe injury. Also I looked at quite a few videos on YOUTUBE on the success Tony had today (due to Zeke Elliott's injury) and a lot of hard line Dallas fans and sports commentators are saying they think Tony is playing much better now (in 2020) than Zeke. That TD run was pretty spectacular and people are really getting behind Tony playing more. Some say, use him as a starter instead of Zeke.

Two different kinds of backs...Both can live together in the Dallas backfield.
But Zeke needs to quit trying so hard to be a power back and become more elusive. Seems like he really enjoys running people over...Even when there is an opportunity to go around them.

RE: Tony Pollard had a nice 42 yard TD run for COWBOYS
IKE's Dallas source just informed Ike, Tony will start next Sunday
Zeke has a tweak, Tony plays like He did today and he will be splitting time with Zeke
Ike hopes Antonio is back next week, his backup had a great game today, Ike would hate to see Antonio have to win the number one back next yr.

I don't think he can anymore. He is at an age where backs start to fall off of a cliff, production wise.

For sure, but also, it's not really a question of who is better. When you have a couple of backs making $1 million per year with similar production, that's a debate. When you have one making $3.7 million and the other making $90 million; it isn't.
Without factoring money into it; it actually is a viable debate at this point.
Quote:"If the Cowboys want to unload Elliott and get some cap wiggle room, a team like the New York Jets would make plenty of sense," Roling writes. "The winless Jets sit with the second-most projected cap space in 2021 at more than $81 million and figure to use the No. 1 pick on a quarterback like Trevor Lawrence.
"Those Jets could send a second-rounder to the Cowboys for Elliott, who they can use to absorb workhorse punishment while a rookie learns on the fly. The front office could then use the out in Elliott’s contract after the 2022 season."
Elliott's value remains high despite noticeable struggles. He only has one 100-yard game this season, hasn't scored a rushing touchdown since Week 5 and is averaging 3.9 yards per carry.
The emergence of backup Tony Pollard could factor into a decision. Pollard has 339 yards rushing and two touchdowns this season on 136 fewer rushing attempts.

They are close...
But I still give the nod to Elliot for an every down back.
Tony had a nice game...But before his 40 yard run he was averaging a little over 2 yards a carry. Lets not get too carried away over a single play.
But $ for $ obviously it is not close.

Big plays don't count, and we shouldn't get carried away over a single play? Are you kidding? That single play was a game clinching touchdown that should have been a 3 yard gain and that is after he gained 6 yards on first down, when the Niners are only down 3 points and know Dallas is going to run.
I can't imagine many people would actually try to diminish that play in any way in any context. I can't imagine anyone looking at that one GREAT play and trying to diminish what he has done over the entire season compared to Elliott.
RE: Tony Pollard had a nice 42 yard TD run for COWBOYS
Watching Good Morning Football on NFLN and they did the Dallas highlights. On that run, the guy said "Tony Pollard, the 2nd year back out of Memphis. How about those Memphis RBs this year. Pollard, Antonio Gibson, and Darrell Henderson have all made big contributions at times this season". Thought that was pretty cool to hear. Gainwell will be the 4th Horseman.

I think Pollard would be fine as Dallas starting RB next season. They are going to get 3 former all pro's back when Tyron Smith, Zack Martin and La'el Collins return. They are building some depth on the OL this year with those guys injured. If they bring Dak back and plan to chuck it around like they were earlier this year, Pollard would be a perfect fit. Trading Zeke would make sense to free up the cap space..........which is why Jerry wont do it.

If they can somehow get out of $50 million of his contract and get a draft pick out of it, they should. There aren't too many suckers in the NFL, but there's still the Jets.
