No line I'm guessing because there are serious doubts about it happening. Rice has no incentive to play its remaining schedule, we'll see.

I really hate this type of grandstanding. Has no basis in reality.

Anyway, there was no line because the threat was started before the first odds were posted. The first numbers are up. Marshall opens as a 25 point favorite, with an OU of 45.5, implying the oddsmakers envision a 35-10 type of game.

Coach, what NC Herd fan is alluding to...there are rumblings from Rice that the conference office is going to reconfigure these conference games on Monday.

There's chatter that the conference will move games around on Monday to provide only in-division rescheduling of games.

So that would mean Rice would play one of its division postpone games this Saturday, and Marshall would probably play Charlotte or FIU on Saturday.

It's just a rumor right now.

Post: #33RE: CUSA should schedule a UAB vs UTSA rematch for December 5th

"Some interesting points in the post-UTEP press conference. Have to go far into it but Rice Coach Mike Bloomgren hints at C-USA making some scheduling decisions on Monday. Says many coaches want to maximize the in-division games in these next two weeks.

No quarantines and no one in isolation for the Owls. They are ready Saturday for whoever they end up scheduled to play. See the first clip under video."

Apparently So. Miss now has an open date for this weekend, that would work out well for UAB if it can be scheduled.

Unless the game was played @USM or the conference covered all cost of traveling. I would say forget it and put that 50 to 100k on the next coaching staff

That's what Rice has been doing for the last 60 years or so.

If it's played, it needs to be on television.

Rice needs to stick to their commitment and play the darn game in Huntington. The league needs to cancel the FIU game, as they have nothing to play for; and mandate Charlotte come to Huntington on the 11th or 12th of December - as that could be a pivotal East Division game.

I don't see a combination of rescheduled games that could work, it actually makes the most sense to keep everything as it is.

It looks like the Rice game against Marshall is still on, have received the Marshall ticket office email for Saturdays game.

I wouldn't think CUSA would make a change now.

It certainly would be. Be interesting to see how your players react to leaving 60 degree Houston and waking up in 35 degree Huntington.

Yes, the weather here right now sucks. It's currently in the mid 30's and raining.

Snowing in Lexington and Huntington tonight. Don't know if we'll have snow Saturday, but I think 30's and rain is the worst.

I'm jealous. Lived in 3 different places in Germany, and all of them had snow yesterday.

Can someone doublecheck me, but I believe that with all known rules and tiebreakers, that Marshall does clinch the east and a title game spot with a win this weekend vs Rice, no matter if Marshall plays FIU or Charlotte (or no game at all) next weekend.

With a Marshall win vs. Rice, then Marshall seems to win the East with all possible scenarios...

* If no games are played on the 11th/12th, Marshall is outright winner.
* If Marshall wins on the 11th against anyone, Marshall is outright winner.
* If Marshall loses on the 11th to FIU, and FAU wins vs. Southern Miss, then Marshall and FAU are both 5-1 and Marshall wins head-to-head tiebreaker and Charlotte is out on percentage points (3-1 or at best 4-1).
* If Marshall loses on the 11th to FIU and FAU doesn't play or loses to Southern Miss, Marshall is winner by percentage points.
* If Marshall loses on the 11th to Charlotte, and FAU beats Southern Miss, then Marshall and FAU are 5-1, and Charlotte is 4-1 (if they beat FIU on 12/5) or 3-1 (if they don't play FIU on 12/5). Marshall and FAU advance on percentage points, and Marshall wins the FAU head-to-head tiebreaker.

I don't see any remaining scenario Marshall doesn't win the east win a win this weekend versus Rice, no matter if the league schedules Charlotte vs Marshall next weekend. Not playing the WKU game yesterday basically took away the possibility of Charlotte getting the number of games in to tie for the East. I just don't see Charlotte scheduling to play 3 football games in 6 days (Dec. 5-11).
