Didn't SMU just beat Memphis?
Yes, after losing:
48-10
63-0
51-7
66-45
28-18
54-48
It took Memphis having around 40 kids out, not playing a game for 28 straight days, not practicing or being allowed at football facility for 2 weeks, sort of practicing in small group settings for a few days with no contact, then traveling to your place to play and fumbling on a game winning drive to give you all that opportunity to kick a game winner to win by 3. But having said that if there is a split, it would be dumb if SMU did not get to go with the group mentioned above
Ya have to add SMU because of Dallas alone. I would put them in the five spot behind the aforementioned teams, but it would be hard to leave them out.
As for the four teams, I'd rank them Cincinnati, Memphis/Houston (tie), UCF. I'd say UCF is definitely the best football program, but not much on the basketball side of things as of now. I don't want to hear about basketball not mattering. It matters. Name recognition is a big part of all this. When we got invited to the Big East, it had nothing to do with our football program at the time.
TCU says hi. Also academics matter so Memphis would not be in front of UCF, that’s the reason you guys didn’t even make the B12’s final list a few years ago.
TCU, SMU, and Memphis all have the same Carnegie rankings. Tulsa, ECU, Memphis, and SMU are the 4 AAC schools with the R2 rank.

UCF is an online school with zero heritage. Who cares. They can report anything they want in this era of fake news. You guys are the equivalent of Liberty University. Feels like a cult to me. I've said it before and I'll say it again, Harvard didn't invent mathematics. All schools can teach anything Stanford can. If a scientist from wherever discovers something today, the entire world will know about it tomorrow.
Stop with the academics/endowment bull****. Nobody from the P5 is going to take UCF a commuter/online school because of how smart they are. Don't even go there. Makes you look stupid, and draws attention to what you aren't. Your claim to fame is football, short lived as it is. Stick to that. UCF...the Harvard of Orlando. Get outta here.

Good attendance comes with winning. SMU's attendance has improved in the past year. It takes more than 1 year of winning. Just ask TCU.

News: An AAC spokesman tells me he doesn’t expect any issues with the highly anticipated SMU-Cincinnati game this weekend in Dallas. “Expecting it to go as scheduled.” Notably, Cincy’s game this past weekend was postponed late because of COVID-19 cases in the Bearcats program.

Nothing, but it showed which programs the B12 was interested in, and Memphis wasn’t one of them. All your excuses were shut down.

Excuses? Haven't heard or made any. But there's ample evidence since that bogus study that's the B12 wasn't interested in anyone on or off the list, rather they just wanted a bigger pay day.

One of the Memphis posters said academics wasn’t a factor and football was everything, then I pointed out Rice and Tulane made the list. Even if the list was just a cash grab it’s still a good indicator of which programs the B12 would consider and for what reasons.

Solid Vandy fan post. Hats off to you sir.
Hell our very own Tulane won the SEC 3 times. Maybe SMU should give them a 3 for 1.

Because it was bull****. Cincy and Memphis were 1-2 in that order. Everything changed when the stupid governor of Texas got involved lobbying for Houston. B12 went on for weeks deciding between two or four teams. After Cincy/Memphis the other two spots were BYU/UCF then ******* came in said they'll be no expansion without Houston involved. After that it was all politics. It all blew up. Make no mistake, it was Cincy/Memphis.

I'm sorry what? When was Memphis ever a leading candidate for Big 12 expansion lmao. For starters the Big 12 was never expanding. The 2016 talks were a pr smokescreen for the Baylor scandal. However, even if they were there were at past 5 candidates in front of them. Houston being one.

So you’re trying to tell me that Memphis is the same level academically as SMU and TCU.
Then tell me why UCF made the B12s list a few years ago and Memphis was nowhere to be found.
Memphis was nowhere close to being 1 or 2 at any point in time
