He already spent his entire career working intimately with the poor black communities of New Orleans, including the aftermath of Katrina.

The last thing in the world this is really about is new dialogue or him "opening his eyes" to poor minorities.

Very disappointing to see Brees cower to peer pressure. He was right the first time. It is disrespectful to kneel during the anthem. That said, I understand why some may choose to do it. You shouldn't have to submit to one way or the other and get destroyed if you don't do what the mob wants.

This is the only answer for the black community. All other paths will only yield more misery.

Edit: Do not misunderstand what I’m saying. Many, many black people have earned the highest respect and dignity. They did not do it by blaming some outside force for their failures.

I just left a job as Finance person at a major university because I discovered that a professor had been stealing from the university I worked for, for years and years. He was a leading researcher so the University had known about it and white washed it forever. It involved using student labor for a private business and the misuse of Federal funds. They was so much pressure on me to look the other way. I reported the sob. The university did nothing. I gave myself a 20k pay cut just to get out of there.

I don't regret it. I did the right thing. I took a stand and I can look myself in the mirror.

People need to stand up for what they believe w/out counting the cost.

Don't conform to a sick society.
