Congratulations, that's a great start to your scheduling. Let's hope it will be a game with a live audience.

Back in Tarleton's basketball heyday of the mid-2000's they beat the likes of TCU and Baylor, and gave A&M a run for their money. I'd love to see Billy Clyde go back there and snag a win.

Stay sober, no prostitutes (kind of hard to find in the Ville), and win baby win.

I don't know, there was the massage parlor sting a few years ago. As for the contract, all I can find is it's for 4 years.

Something definitely is, and I'm avoiding it.

THIS is why I think we'll win in the WAC with Billy Clyde.

Coaching.

Wish he could've convinced this kid to come to Tarleton, but sounds like Marlin is building something to keep an eye on over at Louisiana.

Tarleton was in a league with Eastern and Western NM last year?!?! Aye, yi, yi!!! I just realized that. We beat Western by almost 50 last season and that was with our walk-ons playing the final 8 minutes of the game. I don't know what to say...

As long as Chris Jans is at NMSU, the Aggies will be a major road block for Tarleton State. Additionally, it appears Grand Canyon is bumping up the talent level there. So, they're also a second road block that might last beyond Jans tenure at NMSU. Also, keep in mind, NMSU has been successful under multiple coaches so don't expect NMSU to necessarily drop in strength anytime soon. Tarleton State first must hurdle Dixie State and Chicago State. Then they need to jump the next group of WAC schools... UTRGV, Cal Baptist, Seattle U, and UVU. Then they can set their sights on GCU and ultimately NMSU. It will take BCG at least two season to compete with the middle of the WAC. And, probably two more seasons after that to even be a thorn in GCU and NMSU's side. Jans is a very accomplished coach and Drew is a very good recruiter with deeper pockets (a big recruiting budget) than any other team in the WAC...

Aye.....the real question is why is mighty NMSU, the *current* face of WAC Basketball, playing lowly Northern NM College (NAIA) and Western NM (D2) in their non-conference schedule. Aye!

If we don't play them we do not get money from the state. It's all politics.

Yes, it is State mandated that NMSU and UNM either play at least two of the lower level New Mexico schools each season or paid them not to play the games. NMSU usually plays one of the lower level NM schools as an exhibition game and the other during the course of the season. Last season, NMSU beat Western NM in a exhibition game 92-46 and beat Northern NM 104-30 during the regular season.
