Unfortunate. I felt he had some potential but for whatever reason, the coaches never seemed to have much faith in him. We do have Will Harrison coming back but you wonder if we might also go after a K (and punter) in the transfer portal. Both Stanford and Duke have graduate transfer kickers (the Duke kicker has more game experience than the Stanford one).

Bloomgren is in Eugene so he may be looking at this guy as a replacement kicker.

All of this supposedly wonderful talent better start performing on the field of play soon. Anything less than bowl eligibility next season is completely unacceptable in my book. I'm about to start getting real sick of Bloomgren and Karlgaard.

Another new recruit just announced - Payton Lovell of Trophy Club HS in the Metroplex. He's a 6-5, 280 OL who also is a very good wrestler. Good student with mostly FCS offers.

Caleb Chappelle also - I would think he's another PWO. WR from a private school in the Woodlands.

Collin Riccitelli - only played in one year at Stanford (8 of 10 in XP, 1 of 1 in FG). His twitter feed lists Rice '22 but that may just be because he's going into a 2-year graduate program at Rice? He's a 4th-year senior at Stanford so I don't see how he could get 2 years of eligibility at Rice unless he was granted a 6th year hardship somehow.

He has just one year of eligibility remaining.

Jonah Doddridge also looks to be another PWO. I'll assume it's Jacob's little brother (he's from the same high school - Southlake Carroll). He's a little smaller than his brother and is listed as a DB.

They are actually cousins.

Transfer kicker.

Hoping Bloom knows knows this kicker well - and perhaps he'll turn out to be the next Boz - but with a world of kickers to choose from, it does seem odd to bring in a kicker who warranted playing time in only 3 games in 4 years. Granted, he was playing behind Jet Toner, but nonetheless, Collin missed 2 of 10 extra points in those 3 games.

Another walk-on I believe in 6-2 LB Andrew Awe of Mansfield (Lake Ridge). His brother was a standout LB at Texas Tech and now plays in the CFL for Toronto.

Someone please walk me through the process of finding Rice's recruiting list on Scout or Rivals. I can't find anything concerning CUSA on either site. They do an incredible job of hiding the G5 conferences somewhere in the deepest, darkest recesses. I can see the current top 100 school rankings, but nothing else.

Use 247Sports. They are the "gold standard" these days.

They have a complete list of all of our scholarship recruits and transfers.

I'm not impressed. 247 has us ranked #10 in CUSA. We better get to a bowl game this year, or the ship will sink.

Yea, the original enthusiasm for the class may have been misplaced. We were top 3 at some point, then top 5... and now are bottom 4???

Really hope it's just ranking buffoonery and not reality
