Temple 13-7 half

Worth noting that all fout coaches: Thomas Hammock, Rod Carey, PJ Fleck and Dave Doeren were all underdogs this week.

Maybe it was an NIU discount factor used by Vegas?

Looks like Vegas was wrong regarding atleast one of these predictions!

I predict that PJ Fleck will upset another ranked B1g team again and Rod Carey might beat a second ACC bowl eligible team this week.

I really wish you could have given us a minute-by-minute update of the Temple game, complete with each one of Carey’s brilliant coaching decisions. So many of us have a hard time living without a continuous Temple and Carey update.

Is there a way we can get some updates on the days Temple doesn’t play? Perhaps practices or what Carey does when there is no game or practice?

Minnesota has arguably the strongest connection to NIU of any B1g school at present.

Sure there are fans who believe that one can only be an NIU fan in DeKalb?

Others on this board appreciate that the NIU football family exists beyond DeKalb.

According to the CBSS new rankings this week:

#5 Minnesota 9-0 plays at #24 Iowa 6-3. Iowa-3
#44 Temple 6-3 vs # 39 Tulane 6-3.
#89 NC State 4-5 vs #45 Louisville 6-3.
#114 NIU 3-6 at #65 Toledo 6-3 Toledo -2.5

Update: Peculiar odds on Minnesota and NIU !!??

Iowa is -3 or favored to win by 3 points, despite Being 19 places below in the CBSS rankings?

Toledo more surprisingly is favored to win by only 2.5 points against our beloved NIU, despite being 6-3 versus NIU 3-6 and 49 places ahead of Us in the CBSS ratings??

Can anybody explain ?
Iowa won by 4. Freaky.

So both NIU and NCState are 4-7 already as they both lost weekday games.
NCState lost to Georgia Tek who are at or near the bottom of the ACC.
Misery loves company. At least we have NC State and Dave Doeren.

The other two teams will have post seasons.
The only question is whether either or both will win their Division and goto their conference playoffs?

Minnesota has a very realistic shot and controls their own destiny.

Temple will have to beat Cincinnati and will need Cinci to lose to Memphis.

Minnesota should beat Northwestern and need to beat Wisconsin at home.

PJ Fleck and Minnesota are ahead 38-16 4Q 6:14 remaining.
Likely that Gophers will win clinching a share of the B1G East with Wisconsin.
If Gophers hold onto win, and Wisconsin beats Purdue as expected then this sets up a huge ranked matchup in Minnesota next week, where the winner goes to Indianapolis to face off with either Ohio State or Penn State.
Currently Ohio is leading Penn State 28-17 4Q<9 minutes remaining.

Gratefulness and thankfulness for all their great accomplishments are how I feel towards:

Jerry Kill
Dave Doeren
Rod Carey
And PJ Fleck!

Speaking for myself, I support and root for the NIU TEAMS not an individual coach (except for Joe Novak).

Not to say i dislike these men when they leave. They just don't work for the school I follow and support anymore.

You are a fanboy of these guys.

Maybe, you did not quite understand what I meant. Right, we both root for our ex coaches...ie I root for Coach Carey, .When he is the coach of Temple I will wish them well..if , and when he goes somewhere else, I. Will follow their program, while he is there.

I guarantee I root and support my school just as much as you do...not more or less.

FYI - Too bad huskie nation has nothing better to talk about...huh?

To put it another way..I am not a Lion fan...but I support and root for Kenny G to crank it up. If, and when Kenny G leaves to another, unless a huskie is there I will not care about the lions. ... the " fan dude" hopes my explanation is suffice for you!!
