Is there a required number of posts someone must start?
For the record: Did start a post regarding Korcek's obit on Robert Jackson, tip of the Huskie cap to men's tennis for their outstanding season --- among seven in the last 12 months. Not going to spend time listing posts that involved praising other posters, coaches, athletes, etc., because no one on here should have to defend their right to an opinion.
No, I don't believe Monty only schedules teams with losing records, but considering Rockford, Roosevelt, Judson, Olivet Nazarene, Eureka, IU-Northwest, etc. during his tenure, some of the focus is on wins and yet he's still basically sub-.500. And the home games haven't exactly featured the type of name opponents found on NIU schedules in the 1980s, 1990s, 2000s. Yes times and scheduling have changed drastically.
Having much more familiarity with NIU scheduling than you might believe, realize it's up to the coach and AD to use their connections and those look pretty limited. How about STF doing "schedule-palooza" for basketball to give Huskie fans an added incentive to show up? During the course of so many unnecessary and un-warranted extensions, maybe Monty could've gotten a 3-for-1 with a lower tier program from a (to borrow a football term) P5 league?
Sorry, but not everyone shares your acceptance of what the men's basketball program has become.
And for the record and the umpteenth time, forget the UI references because I despise the ILL-ness, but unlike 222 and some others, I've never changed the name.
