A for profit closing several branch campuses with no athletics will certainly lead to realignment.

How exactly does this affect realignment? When did University of Phoenix start athletics? This thread has officially jumped the shark with that post, it's time to close it.

David’s fantasy threads never get closed by the mods...... they just keep growing with delusion.

They don't even have a football stadium anymore 03-lmfao03-lmfao

That is why I posted it. Because of the stadium.

I don't get bashed there like I do here. Majority of the posters there do like the idea of more football teams in D1.

Because thankfully you don't post ridiculousness on there. At least not on the same level as the stuff you say on here.

You get made fun of not bashed because you advocate for more Division I programs while simultaneously telling us the sky is falling on US Higher Education.

Well said.

He says so many schools don't deserve to be D1 yet goes on and on about how lower level schools with no fans or resources would make better replacements. Oh and he loves to pick on TXST for some reason lol

David craps on all the recent Sun Belt additions except for App and Ga. Southern. He doesn't like that larger FCS programs like Jacksonville State were passed on in favor of schools near larger markets like Ga. State, Coastal, South Alabama.

I did not say they deserved FBS. I said their losing does not help, and that they are ab outlier to the rest of the football schools. Them and UTA should go back to the WAC to build themselves up. SBC just grab any warm bodies with those two because they lost a lot of schools to C-USA. Lamar wanted FBS for a while now, and they are in a large market and been improving in football.

Here's a post where David says Coastal Carolina and Georgia State did not deserve FBS.

(02-20-2017 03:18 AM)DavidSt Wrote:  But, there is one thing that Jacksonville State do have in their favor. They could get a pretty good schedule together. With their upset win over Ole Miss. and almost took down Auburn? They are in a much better position to be FBS than Coastal Carolina who I still do not think deserve to be called up. Same with Georgia State. Jacksonville State, James Madison, North Dakota State, south Dakota State, McNeese State, Youngstown State, Northern Iowa and Eastern Washington all could play ball with the biggest of the boys. These schools all have wins over a P5 opponent.

What good would us being in the WAC do? We would help the WAC but it would have no benefit for us.

And if the SBC grabbed Lamar wouldn't that be just grabbing another warm body? They are definitely not an upgrade over us or UTA, Lamar brings nothing.

Lamar fits the footprint of SBC better than UTA and Texas State. Both their football and men's basketball are better this year than Texas State. Lamar's football>Texas State
Lamar's men's basketball>Texas State

Football comparison

Basketball comparison

Ran a sim on Massey. Football is closer than I expected, I'll give you that, but we're way better in basketball.

You still didn't answer why the WAC is beneficial to us. Lucky for you I'm bored enough to talk in circles with you.

Lamar's football>Texas State
Lamar's men's basketball>Texas State
Lamar! El oh el...

Even Lamar fans would be like what the what?

You get made fun of not bashed because you advocate for more Division I programs while simultaneously telling us the sky is falling on US Higher Education.

Well said.

He says so many schools don't deserve to be D1 yet goes on and on about how lower level schools with no fans or resources would make better replacements. Oh and he loves to pick on TXST for some reason lol

So youre smarter than college presidents and commissioners... got it.
