Quote:Speaking to reporters in the White House Tuesday, President Trump misstated his father’s place of birth as Germany, rather than New York City.
“My father is German, right? Was German. And born in a very wonderful place in Germany, so I have a great feeling for Germany,” Trump said during a meeting with NATO Secretary General Jens Stoltenberg, who is from Norway.
I guess president Magoo can't find that birth certificate either.
whatever happened to the guy with a picture of Colbert in the avatar? He would start a thread on (for example) January 20, 2016, with a title like “REMINDER: Hillary Clinton will be inaugurated as president one year from today”.

Curious, what do you attribute these repeated misstatements too? Not being a polished politician? Mental problems, Playing 4D chess, What?
And what about things like this, that happen more than once:
You're honestly going to tell me that if Obama or Hillary or Biden started speaking like this that you wouldn't begin to question their mental competency? Puhleeze!

I absolutely think that being 72/73 is a big part of it. Call it “mental competency” if you like. I’d call them “senior moments”. Yeah there comes a point at which it could hurt him politically but as of now we are a long way from that.
My honest reaction was that Trump said “father” when he meant to say “grandfather”.

What about people who swear they dont know who someone is, even though they were busted posting about that same person earlier?

What about when he made that claim again last year?
Quote:THE PRESIDENT: No, many of them — in fact, Germany was going to be in the year 2028 or ’30. Yeah, I think it’s a very effective way to deal, but I didn’t deal exactly the way you said. I have great respect for Germany. My father is from Germany. Both of my parents are from the EU, despite the fact they don’t treat us well on trade.

Eh, I put no more credence on this than when Obama said that stuff about 57 states, etc. They both misspoke. Difference is you don't like Trump so he's now mentally deranged whereas you liked Obama so that was nothing. In reality, they both misspoke and partisans on each side make a mountain out of a molehill. So, in short, this is nothing but partisan politics.

My reaction is that he's just a pathological liar, but to each their own I suppose.
Let’s suppose you’re right about that. What do you want people to do with that information?
Another possible explanation is that Fred Trump really was born in Germany, and only pretended to have been born in the US, and confided this information to his son at some point in time. In which case, Donald Trump is actually revealing a family secret, making an admission against his father’s interest. It would also explain his (DJT’s) unwillingness to accept birth certificates at face value ;-)

Well by the standard you've presented here Leftwingtom we should have already questioned Obama's mental competency. Have you forgotten his speech at the Prayer Breakfast where he misstated several times the word corpsman (pronounced core-man) by instead calling it corpse-man? Puhleeze!

They're crawling out from under their beds. Only took about a week after the Mueller report slapped them silly.
