I just noticed... do you think he was talking about Baseball and just got confused?

The trend among the current generation may be to use a pronoun for their middle name. Of course, this may be the last generation to have kids.

Good call AOC

Edit: Not sure you know what a pronoun is...

That's not at all what I meant. You should watch Shameless... it seems like your speed as it is.

He's not turning pro. He's in his second semester at Jones School of Business. He'll get his MBA next year.

Interestingly, looking at the updated CUSA stats...

...despite UAB's 1-8 conference record, they have the two leading basestealers-- with 28 and 20 SBs already. There are only 3 others with at least 10.

It's a shame that he is almost 30 years old. If he were younger, he would definitely be a pretty high draft pick with the numbers he is putting up.

Andrew Bellows Dunlap. Born: May 4, 1994

So almost 26 with a wife, kids , mortgage

25, I think, this May. Still a bit older than the pros would like.

His Rice baseball bio shows him as married but does not mention kids.

His first child was born last Fall.

Yes, Ants Jr year paled next to his first two, but the shoulder injury not only kept him at DH, but no doubt had an impact on his swingt.

BTW, Dunny's .487 OBP rivals Rendon's Sophomore year OBP and Sinisi's 2002 OBP.

So if he were to get drafted you are certain he would not give baseball a chance?

Dunlap has tried to quit the team multiple times. What makes you think he will stay committed to his MBA?

Gayle has really settled down since the world became aware of his flat fastball.

5 IP, 8 K's, 2 hits, 1 BB, 1 HBP, 0 WP

Also, didn't Dunlap join the team this spring, thus this is his first semester?

Yeah-Dunlap was not enrolled at Rice in the Fall.

Also-unsure if this is the case for Dunlap-but I've seen some football grad transfers claim that they're in the MBA program when they are actually in the Master's of accounting program.

That's simply not true. He never quit the team. For the past two seasons-- last season and this season-- Andrew requested (in advance from the coaching staff) to work Fall semester to support his family...and he did graduate last May. Last year, he was also still rehabbing from Summer shoulder surgery during the Fall, but was taking batting practice in the cage during the latter stages of Fall Ball.

No. Andrew was accepted into the Jones School (2-year MBA program) in December, and immediately requested reinstatement onto the baseball team. From what I understand, he had spoken to Bragga about this possibility during the Fall, but until he was actually accepted and enrolled he could not participate in team activities.

The 2 year MBA program starts in August. So if he was accepted in December he’s not starting until the summer.

He was accepted in December. However, if he's now enrolled now he wouldn't be allow to play for Rice this semester...and he obviously is playing.

How does a theology major get into an MBA program in a matter of weeks. He had time to take his GMAT, get through admissions, and not miss the cut off?

Edit: I've heard all of his MBA classes are online. I didn't realize Rice offered this apparently.
