MLB teams love upside and youth and unfortunately Dunlap misses on one of those.
He's not turning pro. He's in his second semester at Jones School of Business. He'll get his MBA next year.
Dunlap has tried to quit the team multiple times. What makes you think he will stay committed to his MBA?
That's simply not true. He never quit the team. For the past two seasons-- last season and this season-- Andrew requested (in advance from the coaching staff) to work Fall semester to support his family...and he did graduate last May. Last year, he was also still rehabbing from Summer shoulder surgery during the Fall, but was taking batting practice in the cage during the latter stages of Fall Ball.
Yes it is Walt. He quit after he was ineligible his freshman year. He left the team for a time then decided to come back. This is 100% true. It may be difficult to find if you are subscribed to Parliament Lite though.

From what I understand, he had spoken to Bragga about this possibility during the Fall, but until he was actually accepted and enrolled he could not participate in team activities.
The 2 year MBA program starts in August. So if he was accepted in December he’s not starting until the summer.
He was accepted in December. However, if he's now enrolled now he wouldn't be allow to play for Rice this semester...and he obviously is playing.
Or he could be enrolled in something other than the 2 year full time MBA...
How does a theology major get into an MBA program in a matter of weeks. He had time to take his GMAT, get through admissions, and not miss the cut off?
Edit: I've heard all of his MBA classes are online. I didn't realize Rice offered this apparently.
That makes a lot more sense. I’m surprised online classes would count towards D1 eligibility though. I figured it was some sort of part time MBA that allowed a January class start (unlike the real 2 year full time MBA program).
