That was the whole point of my edit...

And mine as well. I still think this is pointing where OO suggested, to another Scooter Libby. We're going to see some minor players prosecuted and likely convicted for minor unrelated activities, but no collusion or conspiracy involving Donald Trump. I'm not sure how the left will accept that.

It will be interesting to see how some on the left handle that for sure.

I've said for quite some time that I doubted that Trump would be charged with anything related to colluding/conspiring with Russia, but that people in his campaign would be. I don't know why Trump himself not being charged would mean the investigation is less worthwhile, but maybe you're not suggesting that - can't quite tell.

That's why, when I talk about the investigation, I clearly say the Trump campaign, because that is what is being investigated. Trump surrounded himself with some very sketchy characters.

Oh, Bull Hockey. The target is Trump, regardless of the frame you guys want to put it in. The campaign and associates and family and dog walkers and bimbos and people he met 30 years ago are all just means to get him. Unfortunately for you guys, there was no collusion, so you will have to content yourselves will turning over rocks and finding stuff on those associates. There will be innuendo of the type you guys take as evidence, such as the assistnt to the assistant of the Department of Assistants being seen at the DC library at the same time as a Russian. The conspiracy theory will live on, forever. Soon we will hear of the third Russian on the grassy knoll, and the nest of spies living in Alabama.

Collusion makes no sense, for either alleged side, and you guys are trying to confuse association with collusion, to the point that a handshake with a russian at a state dinner is suspicious activity.

When Mueller folds his tent without displaying a conspiracy, the conspiracy theorists on the left(everybody?) will call for another investigation, since this was obviously influenced by Trump's meddling, or by Russian agents within the investigation, or by global warming, or something, anything, because anything that does not land Trump in Leavenworth will be deemed insufficient. Anything that does not show Hillary as the true Queen of the US is insufficient.

Oh, so cute. The one leftist who will talk decides to close his eyes and plug his ears.

Ignoring logic is what got you where you are today. Someday this investigation will close, and the conspiracy theorists will not be happy with the outcome, and they will display their dissatisfaction in protests and cries for a real investigation - one that has the results they want, and the results they want are NOT a finding that the Trump campaign had unsavory characters who had not lived pure lives. The result they want is to get Trump.

I think you are wrong because you believe in things that are not true or logically demonstrable.

Like Trump is not the target, his campaign is.

Like somebody made a deal with the Russians to steal and publish emails, without any changes, innocuous emails that had no influence and somehow that perverted the election.

Like believing getting a man entrapped in a falsehood proves there is a conspiracy.

Like...well, you get the drift.

If I don't point out the logical inconsistencies in what you and others believe, I might as well sit in the corner nodding and saying Amen, Brother. Just like most of the Democrats.

I notice you have not taken apart my logical scenarios. I presume that is because you cannot. How do you prove a conspiracy with Russians to steal an election with decades old money laundering charges? Show me the logic in that.

Or just paint me a logic picture of how and when this conspiracy came about. When did Putin and (anybody) come to an agreement, and what was the agreement, and what was the quid pro quo?

yeah, if you were promoting a theory that UFOs from Area 51 were poisoning our drinking water so they could use us for cattle, I would ask you to explain that too. So far, I have gotten about as much about the Trump conspiracy as about the UFO conspiracy from the left.

The favorite lost. That is the extent of the evidence.

So answer these questions for me. Any of you other conspiracy theorists, feel free to jump in with your answers.

Who do you think colluded with Putin to steal the election?

When do you think they made the agreement for Putin to aid Trump's election bid?

What do you think is the quid pro quo offered to Putin and accepted by him?

Why do you think the chosen method was the theft and publication of emails that showed nothing important?

Why do you think voters in Wisconsin et al changed their votes to Trump after reading the emails?

I'll add one more:

What things do you think Putin did because of Trump, that he would not have done had there not been some contact with someone in the Trump campaign/organization?

These are the questions that need to be answered to support any claim of collusion (which is not a crime) or conspiracy (which is).

Who do you think colluded with Putin to steal the election?

I'm not willing to state who did/didn't. I do think there is enough evidence to warrant an investigation into this. From the numerous meetings that were lied about, to the change in Ukraine policy at the convention, to the evidence of Russian involvement with hacking and completing a misinformation campaign, to the evidence of Russia intelligence trying to cultivate assets in the Trump campaign, and so on.

Quote:When do you think they made the agreement for Putin to aid Trump's election bid?

Again, waiting for Muellers report. But so far the intelligence agencies have said that the Russian actions clearly favored Trump primarily by either attacking Clinton or supporting her political foes.

Quote:What do you think is the quid pro quo offered to Putin and accepted by him?

No idea, and no reason to try and speculate on something that could be literally anything.

However, I think it's clear why Putin wanted to interfere with the election - any action that diminishes the US's standing in the world is good for Russia as they try and gain influence. The current admin has harmed the relationships with most key allies, has constantly talked bad about NATO, and is now willing to pull out of Syria and let Russia fill the void.

Quote:Why do you think the chosen method was the theft and publication of emails that showed nothing important?

First, that was just one thing that was done.

Second, I think that Russia took what they could get, and knew that simply publishing the emails would make people think they were important. And putting private emails out there allowed for people to draw their own conclusions, and I think Russia knew that this would happen. I don't think they necessarily knew that such crazy conspiracies as the Comic PingPong pedo ring would develop.

I think their goal was to just put the information out there to create a sense that there was something hidden in the emails (because they were stolen), and to let the internet go to work and create a mountain out of a molehill.

Quote:Why do you think voters in Wisconsin et al changed their votes to Trump after reading the emails?

I've never stated that.

Again, Russia was involved with more than just the emails. They waged a misinformation war, which very likely caused some people to get out and vote and some to stay home.

But as I've said before, the outcome of the election should have had no bearing on whether this investigation went forward. The preponderance of connections, meetings, asset cultivation, etc. between the Trump campaign and Russia is what should have (and did) cause the investigation to start.

Not sure how many more times I'll to type that...

That's hard to answer because we don't know all the facts. But it will be easiest to answer if we assume that there was coordination.

It's logical to think that some of the specific efforts (like what populations in the states to target with their troll campaigns) could have been driven/informed by the Trump campaign.

The timing of actions (such as the release of the email dumps) could have also been driven/informed by the Trump campaign (remember, the email dump was done hours after the Access Hollywood tape was released).

And we also don't know if Russia would have done so much had they not had a campaign that was willing to play ball. As I said in my response to the email, we've seen the Trump admin advance a number of Putin-friendly policies. And Trump has a history of spouting off Russian conspiracy theories/propaganda such as how Russia was right to invade Afghanistan, how Montenegro might try and start WWIII, or how Poland may invade Belarus. So we very well could have seen a more aggressive Russia because a candidate said they would be supportive of their causes.

That's your prerogative I guess, but to chastise me for closing my eyes and plugging my ears, while you summarily dismiss my views is interesting, to say the least.

At least Tanq provides some rationale as to why he thinks I'm wrong.

This post is a series of words that are connected but don't make much sense and don't actually address anything I've said.

Maybe that's why I "haven't taken apart your logic."

So answer these questions for me. Any of you other conspiracy theorists, feel free to jump in with your answers.

Who do you think colluded with Putin to steal the election?

Speaking of words that are connected but don;t make sense...

The House Foreign Affairs committee shuts down a Terrorist Watchdog sub-committee. And opens up a Trump Foreign Policy Investigative sub-committee in its place.

Committee Changes

I think that Pelosi should shut down *every* redundant Trump investigative committee and sub-committee, and just reform all of them under the Committee to Defeat the President. Just more on point.

probable cause of ...what? There was no probable cause to investigate an illogical and unpractical conspiracy theory. All your probable cause is a result of the investigation, not an impetus to have one.

what were the probable causes listed in the charge to the Special counsel?

Libs: We need an investigation to see if there is anything to investigate.
