Paulson Stadium at # 16? Seriously?

I'd be curious to know what the App fans think who attended this years game in Paulson. If you attended and left not pleased about the rivalry despite the loss you ain't right in the head. Absolutely electric atmosphere that I would argue would rival the best in the country. The crowed was completely in every second of the game singing in unison, constant defining chants, lighters lite up the stadium during song.

I would have enjoyed it a lot more if I hadn't been flipped off and told FU like 3 dozen times. It is certainly anything but a "friendly" rivalry, and I could never take my kids to that game. We decided to find a random seat in the upper deck just to avoid all the confrontation. Aside from that, the students' passion was awesome.

Why were you in the student section?

Sitting in any student section in any stadium in the country with a Yosef hat on waiving a confederate flag painted black and yalla screaming profanities will bring the FU's. Well unless you're in Boone.

Seriously I can't see it. No need for the Eagle realist to come out from Realville. I've never seen this behavior directed at anyone in my many years of going to Paulson. I admit I've never sat in the student section so I wouldn't know what goes on there. I'm glad you found seats that were less threatening to the students. Think about reserving your seats there next time so that you can enjoy the best game day experience within your conference for the past 30 years. Dude if you felt threatened I can think of several thousand people that would have made arrangements for you and likely better seating than you reserved.

There could be a lot of truth to what you are saying, but GSU tries to foster that environment by seating visiting fans among the students and the students right behind the visitor's bench. I personally like to see the students behind the home bench like at App. Let them pump up the home team instead of trying to intimidate the visiting team.

We didn't move because we were threatened, more because the antics were annoying. You asked my opinion, I had a great time except for the outcome, and I give credit that your students were totally engaged. I actually heard a student say, "Dude, this is the most lit it's EVER BEEN!" I'm glad we can bring out the best in y'all!

Those allotted seats right beside the visitor's locker room... the upper deck seats were way better for seeing the field. I learned my lesson...

I've noticed we started selling seats to visitors down there, although if you look at our stadium map the corresponding side in the upper deck is what we designate for visitors. It's a TERRIBLE idea to allow any fans from other teams down there. It's just asking for trouble.

For any fans visiting our stadium, make sure to ask for seats in the deck. You'll enjoy your visit a lot more. There's no way to really curb student behavior and I know it can be a bit rough. The fans up in the deck (I'm one of them) are a lot more accommodating and will give you a better welcome.

Our students are ****** to visitors. It's just the way it is. I wish they could contain things to the action on the field and the opposing team instead of the fans, but we can't really stop it from happening. If you haven't been on that side of the stadium, then you can't really weigh in to what happens.

It's a mistake by our admin to put visiting fans in those seats, period.

I go out of my way to offer congratulations or well wishes to visiting fans when I find them since I know they're likely not seeing a ton of that behavior in the stands, especially down low. I can't change the students but hopefully one person at a time I can change the opinion of our non-student fanbase.

You’re not alone in your effort to make visiting fans feel welcomed. The majority of alum do the same. I approached one App fan on the concourse to say hello but did kinda seem drunk so I let him be. Knowing all App fans are saints I knew better.

The sun sets directly behind the stands that are currently under construction. I can't tell you how excited I am to have those stands done for those 6pm kickoffs, LoL.
That caused us some issues during the 1st half. Don't know why we continued to throw the ball to that side. Our receivers couldn't see looking back into that sun.

Okay I knew better than to post something positive about the rivalry to crapp fans in the form of a question. Chest thumping quoting a student claiming it's the most lit it's ever been is new high i guess for traveling fans. We'll fill the stadium in the pouring rain without you. If you're interested in seeing passion and an atmosphere second to none for the sport you love you're welcome to come to the Boro and enjoy it with us. PM me before hand and we'll get you fixed up to enjoy your stay and avoid the minions of recent jailbreaks so common here.04-cheers

Won’t happen until we start winning, and we aren’t going to start winning until our coaching staff is gone.

So the stadium won’t be filled for a while.

We’ve proven that if we are winning that our fans turn out pretty well. But just like pretty much every program in this conference, back to back seasons where we are averaging 4 wins is going to hurt turnout.

As a GS fan, you should know. What happened to your attendance in the final year of Tyson Summers?

Who??? Don't know I moved to NC.03-banghead
Yes attendance did drop a few thousand but we had really good numbers for years at FCS/1AA. Winning does help.

That is not the Southern hospitality that Paulson Stadium is known for. Recently these male Yankees have been enrolling at Southern for the beautiful women that exist in the student population. I'm assuming it's the 3 dozen or so that are currently enrolled at Southern that you encountered.

The intensity and loud mouths of these Yankees can be disturbing for opposing fans visiting our beloved Paulson Stadium!

RE: Coastal's stadium
I went up to an Arkansas State fan and said "Welcome to Statesboro!" as we were walking in to the stadium. He gave me the nastiest snarl I've ever seen on a person and told me to f off. That's the last time I've tried to interact with a visiting fan lol. Most of the time they show up mad and leave madder.
