That will be a crowd of about 15K. Hope the QLB is happy with the ACC/B10 tie-ins. Put EMU or WMU in there and it would sell more tickets.

Starting next year I believe Quicklane becomes a MAC primary bowl.

Yes that's a great scouting report -- Shai isn't afraid to throw and he has a cannon on him. If you guys turn the ball over expect us to take an immediate shot. Typically we slip Darion Anderson out and he has the speed to make himself open.

RE: Bowl Talk 2018
GS doesn't throw the ball a lot, but they are certainly capable of throwing it. Werts has a QB rating over 163 for the year with 0 interceptions in 109 attempts. Completion ratio is around 60%. GS hasn't turned the ball over much at all and they lead the nation in turnover margin at +22. The triple option they run is not at all like what Army runs (which used to the the GS offensive style). Today it is a run from a pistol set with lots of different back placement and motion. Defense is bend don't break, so they do give up some yards, but tend to make the other team work to get points. Looking forward to reading all of the offensive and defensive breakdowns that will obviously be posted on the EMU and GS message boards. Should be an interesting matchup.

RE: Bowl Talk 2018
Sounds a little bit like our defense. Gave up a lot of yards in certain games, but only allowed more than 30 points twice all season. We also had a stretch of about 11 quarters late in the season where our defense didn’t give up a TD. 6 guys on D got All-MAC accolades. Don’t let the numbers fool you...they’re pretty much the main reason why we made a bowl game.

Our offense has struggled mightily at times, but looked good whenever Mike Glass was in the game. Sadly, he got hurt in the 2nd quarter of the Toledo game (when we were up 28-3), and then got hurt AGAIN when he came back in the CMU game. He was dressed in our final game of the year, so we are hoping he’s good to go for the Camellia Bowl. If he plays, and is as effective as he was during the regular season, we have a very good chance to win. If he doesn’t, Tyler Wiegers will need to be very sharp, which hasn’t always been the case.

Going to be up to the defense again. Very difficult to prepare for an offense like this, that we've never seen, in less than 2 weeks. Hoying likely to play, but certainly not 100% with that shoulder.

No idea whether Glass will play, but won't be 100% either way. Will take a great effort, and probably a couple turnovers, to pull this one out.

Will be there to support no matter what! Let's go EMU

Any word on Glass? Will he be able to suit up?

We are easily confused with traditional triple option teams, so the Army film will not do much for you in terms of game prep.

I read the thread on your Sunbelt forum. Sounds like GS is very confident that they'll smoke our inferior team in front of our dozen fans. Please keep thinking that.

We have a pretty strong contingent of chest-beating message board idiots that will eventually make their way over here, I'm sure. Most GS fans are reasonable and understand that any team that made it through the season bowl-eligible and picked up a P5 win is nothing to take lightly.

This year GS has rebounded from our worst year in our programs short history, falling to 2-10 last season. Our HC was fired mid-season after starting 0-6, and the Interim coach was named the new HC after going 2-4 on the back half of the season. We are still implementing our new schemes, but he has done a tremendous job of rebuilding the confidence in our student-athletes and getting them to play solid, disciplined football. That being said, 95% of our fans are very excited to be in a bowl game, and I would expect a large crowd since Montgomery isn't too far from Atlanta where a good number of our alumni reside. Should be a great environment and I am looking forward to learning more about your team leading up to the game.

Go Eagles! 04-cheers

In all seriousness, I'm excited to be bowling again, excited for this match up, and hoping our team isn't taking EMU as lightly as some of our fans are. It's not fun being the chest-beaters who end up getting embarrassed (See Toledo last year or BGSU in 2015)

Be happy EMU fans that GSU no longer has Matt Breida...

Ugh... he's still running on the 2015 WMU defense.

We have a few of those who say that stuff before every game and "fire the coach and kill the referees" after every loss.

As a program, we've been winners and champions since we started in the early 80's but just suffered a horrible 2 years with a bad coaching hire. 2018 has been a pleasant turnaround, but wins have been mostly due to good discipline, defense, creating turnovers, and opportunistic big plays on offense.

Congrats to EMU on a good season and To Hell with Michigan and UGA!

I think you'll find that those comments are coming from fans of other teams and not GS fans. We know that the game will be a dog fight, just like our bowl game with MAC champion Bowling Green was in 2015. Turnovers and a big difference in team speed made the difference that night and GS won handily after a huge second half.

Now he's running for the San Francisco 49ers and doing very well. His GS teammate Jerrick McKinnon was supposed to be the #1 guy for the 49ers this season, but a torn ACL the week before the season started thrust Breida into the starting role.

You're right Bronc33...Breida did put on a clinic that day against WMU.

We are going to make the trip from Oklahoma. Can't wait. Hardly can believe we will be going to see EMU in a bowl game now twice in the past three years after so many years of pure agony. Anybody know what the EMU team hotel is going to be or have suggestions on accommodations?

The website says that it is the Renissance Montgomery. It looks nice.
My limited experience with Mongomery has not been very positive. So, I am not planning on trying to find a deal in that town.
