Last year’s team and Freeman’s teams were definitely more talented and possibly the year before last as well (debatable).

They are one point (and a crappy officiating decision) away from being 6-0.

It’s still early but saying they aren’t good is inaccurate. They’re not great, but I think they’d qualify as good right now.

They are 58 in rpi and 75 in sos (for those who care so deeply about that) per real time rpi.

After the Game:

It’s fine against lesser teams like Vcu, it’s still not going to get us wins against ncaa tourney caliber teams.

And make no mistake, Vcu is not an ncaa tourney team this year.

I was extremely unimpressed with both teams. That was NOT a well played basketball game despite the passion involved, it was ugly to watch.

Another year of mediocrity ensues but at least we didn’t lose to Vcu this year.

I said they were a good team but not great.

Great is ncaa tourney caliber. Neither of those teams are ncaa tourney caliber teams. The fact that you cannot distinguish nuances in sports discussion is about the least surprising thing that has happened in the history of this board.

The last time we played vcu at the Ted and lost, I remember seeing X in the crowd and hoping he would lead us to the W the next go round. AND HE DID NOT DISAPPOINT. X sparked the comeback in the second half and wouldn’t let us lose this go round. And I’m sure he won’t let us lose as a senior the next time feces returns.

I don't blame you for not going to the stu. I haven't been too many times but a few. It's great when we do win there but I haven't always been treated too well, a couple of personal bad experiences I won't go into. But you are right about the seating. They spread out the visitors intentionally , at least it appears that way and the place is like a high school gym. But they have a good atmosphere, I will give them that.

The Ted doesn't have a bad seat in the house. The Stu has that corner where they stick you and if you aren't 6'5" tall, you aren't catching any part of the game when the crowd is on their feet. Very poorly designed arena. I have some VCU family friends that have been kind enough to get us better seats in the past. The downside is being amid the worst of the smell.

I could see having a bad experience in the stu. Their fans are obnoxious in the Ted - I can only imagine them as a mob. I was going back and forth with one of them this last game and, I do my best to not be petty, but I enjoyed having the final word. Truly satisfying.

I've been to the Stu a half-dozen times, and never once had any problems with VCU-fan behavior. For some reason, that issue only seemed to arise in the Big Brown Turd -- where it was a rampant and recurring problem.

Strange dynamic.

That was my conclusion when looking at the seat options. Really bad seats unless you buy premium secondary market (and then you’re absolutely surrounded). They must love the Ted b/c you’re right - there is absolutely no bad seat in the house (and we have +1K seats over their venue). I wonder if they are ever going to move to more modern digs.

I had an issue or two in the brown dump as well but not as bad as the Stu. It was totally unprovoked. I had my back turned and was simply leaving the place.

The Spiegel Catalogue Center is only a few years older than the Ted.
