RE: ODU @ St. Joe's
BJ had an off night and missed key open shots. We are going to largely win or lose games this season based on how Caver and BJ play. One of our big two had an off night and so we lost.

Give it up man, it was never going to happen. The schedule isn’t good and the team isn’t that good. The coach isn’t that good either.
Team may not be great. I say its a little of a stretch to say the schedule isn't decent lol

There's nobody left on the schedule besides Syracuse. An at large bid was always a long shot, now it's impossible. I wouldn't be banking on that hope.

UNI, VCU, URI all expecting to have down years. Syracuse is the only strong OOC opponent left. We needed this... oh well. Another season where the last 3 games are all that matter. Oh, forgot about pods. So maybe just conference games matter, then.

Maybe.
It's better to find out now than to beat up on UMES, win 25 games, and think we're better than they are.
We'll have other opportunities. We need more players to step up.
Definitely. I would take this scheduling and this feeling over how it was done before. Have to give yourself a chance in the OOC
We didn’t though.......this year’s schedule isn’t that great either quite frankly. Nowhere close to the old days.

Really? We have been seeing the same stuff, and Jeff has been saying the same stuff for half a decade. He might see the problems, but he ain't been able to figure out how to score consistently in his 20+ year career.

Yeah, but he has a different batch of guys now. The three freshman, X and Godwin seem to be from a different mold than JJs previous guys. And if our D was a good today as it usually is, this would have been a much closer game. And JJ has show he can coach defense. The youth and JJs history of good D make me think theres still hope this game was not a pre-cursor of the whole season. You're right about the scoring though, except that first half was pretty good for the guys.
No.....they don’t. Stop buying the BS propaganda. These guys aren’t anything special, the freshman from St. Joe’s, HE was special. Wake the F up.

No it isn’t. It’s not a good schedule, especially with how weak CUSA is again this year.
It’s only decent when compared to last years absolute abomination.

The freshmen and Dickens are good compared to what we have seen are ODU of late. They are not better than freshman at good mid majors. The good news is they are not worse either. They are not, however, the caliber of players who be game changers in their first season.

RE: ODU @ St. Joe's
My immediate reaction is my immense disappointment in Robinson. Dude is built like a giant beast and he plays so timid, has too soft of a touch and can't finish from a foot away. It's only two games so far, but I'm starting to think his only role is getting the tipoff - and he screwed that up tonight too.
One positive note - another game where Green seems to be playing with much better confidence. I hope he keeps it up.
There were enough comments on BJ already. We need consistency from him if we are going to do anything. If he disappears during our CUSAT we are done.
This was a disappointing loss as a win would have given us hope that this year could be different. Their freshman tore up Caver. Caver is our best player. Does anything else need to be said? I keep thinking this team looks good until we play good teams. Fact is, we don't compare at all to these guys. We'd be a middling A10 team alongside VCU if we were part of that conference.
Two games in... lots of stuff can happen. But so far, my optimism is quite low. The scoring droughts seem to happen each and every year... it's mental.

Northern Iowa is usually a good team, not sure how they end up. We also have the chance of playing Missouri.

There are genuine fans on this site who express disappointment and there are “fans” who spew nothing but continual bs and hate toward the program. I wish these “fans” would carrry their a. They are no part of Monarch Nation. Never have been and never will be.

No one cares what you wish or what you think.
I was right about this team and right about jones as per usual.
If anyone needs to carry their A’s it’s you and Jeff and anyone else who defends this crap as good enough because YOU are the ones who are not real fans, comprende hombre?

So the genuine fans are happy with mediocre performances and the other "fans" should just go away. Well some of us have. And others will follow.

I guess everyone should stay home...the season is over. Really some negative fans here. To refer to "the internet form of cancer" is really not funny. As someone that spent the last year fighting breast cancer, I think that is disrespectful statement for many cancer survivors and those that have lost their battle. I guess as a cancer survivor, I don't take sports so seriously anymore. I will support our team and not gripe about losing a game. Of course, i want to see them win. These kids are out there working hard. It always seems to take a few games for the team to gel with new players. I am looking forward to the season. Go Monarchs!
