DubDubPerro.

1. It’s always Fiesta time amigo.

2. I fall in love all the time. It’s a weakness I have. Of course it’s unrequited love but it still happens.

3. I really enjoyed that tiny desk concert you shared. I have a whole lot of Latin music. They’re pretty different from anything I’ve heard. I LOVE Latin music. I’ve stated before, anyone that can turn a whistle into a musical instrument is okay with me.

Thanks for the share. A nice start to my day. Now I’m going to look them up further and see if i can find a good cd of theirs to add to the collection.

Fantastico! Great selections gentlemen. I'm also a fan of NPR's Tiny Desk Concert Series and the latin/salsa music genre. It just makes me happy and want to smile, celebrate, and dance a jig. Eating some Mexicana and enjoying a frozen margarita helps too. A friend from another board turned me on to these guys who hail from Texas but are influenced by Thai music...

Here's some more Khruangbin (Thai for "a plane"):

This song is also the last one played in the Tiny Desk Concert video posted above...

Always appreciated Henry Rollins' authenticity but I can't say I was overly into his music/bands.

Holy mother of not having shitttt to do with a sports message board but this is why this thread is my favorite from any message board I’ve ever been on.

That mierda just made me smile over and over. I really like the Thai stuff you brought and liked Stink bringing out his bruiser to buss us up. But this guy is gonna cause me to end up on a damn long youtube jag now.

Gracias doe amigo. I enjoyed it immensely.

Ok, on the opposite side of the music palette...you can just feel the light and emotion and talent shining forth...

Came across this cover.... kept all the intensity... but with different instruments.

I kind of dig it.

Cypress is still good and they actually have a new cd out next week.

As far as the track you posted goes... it was a unique concept by them to do Skull & Bones with one song being this particular one done hip hop and metal on each disc of the double cd. FWIW, one cd was all rap stuff, the other disc was all metal stuff. Actually, their metal stuff wasn't that bad musically... I just don't think B Real's nasal tone fits trying to "sing" to metal very well. That said, he didn't sound vocally bad. I think Sen Dog had a better voice on the metal stuff. The double cd is pretty good.

RE: OT: CUSA board Music thread (what are you listening to right now?)
On a long drive tonight I dug out an old favorite on cd. Man, Patty Donahue had that thing going on, kinda an Ally Sheedy look when she was younger, and I always loved her deadpan vocal delivery, which was crafted perfectly for Chris Butler's absolutely brilliant songwriting skills. This was the kind of combination of talents that made Punk/New Wave cooler than cool. Unfortunately, she had been a heavy smoker most of her adult life, and died early of lung cancer at the age of 40. Tracy Wormworth was a hellava great bassist, making their songs pop. She was also Sting's bass player for his Bring On The Night tour as well, which tells you something about her chops. In fact their rhythm section was tops, with Billy Ficca as well (ne Television).

Anyhoo, here's a live performance from Old Grey Whistle test that probably doesn't do the songs justice unless you're a fan.

Artist: The Waitresses
Songs: "Quit" (ironic), "No Guilt", "I Know What Boys Like"

...and here's that video they played over and over back in the day on the local indy channels.

Artist: The Waitresses
Album: Wasn't Tomorrow Wonderful?
Song: "I Know What Boys Like"

well, that last post about Patty Donahue of the Waitresses got me thinking about another unique lady of rock who died too young (this time of cancer.)

Here's the underrated Wendy Wild (Wendy Andreiev) with the Mad Violets.

...and that one made me think of Ian, and he had a thing for this band in his band which was almost my band. Never quite sure what kind of door he wanted to be. I like oak myself. 03-wink While everyone else was doing the grunge thing, I was otherwise occupied musically at the time.

then this one pops into my head. I should've brought that one along as Seventeen Seconds is good driving music, especially at night. Oh, well, next time. Kinda cool to actually be able to see Robert Smith before all the makeup, whatnot and such.

Artist: The Cure
Album: Seventeen Seconds
Song: "At Night"
April 8, 1980 Fiction Records

On 8th December 1979, The Cure did their first live TV special at Theatre de l'Empire in Paris:

Listening to WORJ-FM 107.7 when I was younger after high school late night when they played albums or songs I would probably never here on top 40.

Artist: Pete Shelley
Album: XL1
Track: "Telephone Operator"
1983 Genetic Records/Island Records

In addition to the minor hit "Telephone Operator," the album included a computer program for the ZX Spectrum which featured lyrics and graphics which displayed in time with the music, an innovative precursor to the visuals of today's media players. XL1 was produced by Martin Rushent and Shelley.
