Have one of these on the Lounge as well, but for extra post numbers and extra fun, thought I'd start one here as well due to the good number of posters.

Rules:

List the artist and song title. Bonus for the album title and/or year.

You can also link a video or picture if you wish.

I'll start with a song I haven't heard in a while:

Crystal from New Order's Get Ready album in 2001. Pretty good song from a bunch of old-timers who'd already been around nearly 30 years at that point (counting Joy Division).

Video (no, that's not them in the video, just a bunch of kids lip-synching. I believe this is where the Las Vegas based band The Killers got their name from.) If you want to see what New Order looked like, look up the video for "The Perfect Kiss" which is also a 'killer' song.

Wow…They sound just like some of those "post-punk" bands from the 80's….I kind of dig this, may have to listen to some more.

I'm an old guy, so I listen to old music.

One of the best of all time, a drummer from Arkansas in the middle of a Canadian band, Levon Helm.

From The Last Waltz:

Hometown Denton favorites Midlake just released their fourth studio album Antiphon and its awesome. I've been really digging singing along with the song called "Provider", but here's the rocking title track:

Marshall Crenshaw

Didn't realize that the deleted portion of this post would possibly create the ill-feelings that it did in a couple of folks.

Apologies to those that took offense. Preferences in vocal, instrumental, or synthesized sounds/music/noise vary and everyone is entitled to their opinion without smart@#$ comments.

Please do elaborate on what I'm sure is a point that you're prepared to fully back with an argument rooted in the area of what exactly defines music.... because surely it couldn't simply be that you're having that hard of a time dealing with the the fact that not everyone shares the same artistic tastes as you.
