Losing to Charlotte would be a death blow to BW. Some things are just not acceptable.

Coastal Carolina just rescheduled their game with Campbell for this wednesday. I wouldn't be surprised to see the same thing happen for this game.

If we play, it will be Sunday and the team will have to leave early and practice down there.

Shane said something on Titter along the lines of "'Bout to be in Charlotte all week".

RE: UNCC game discussion
I think the O-line would block better and move the offense down the field if we setup a buffet table like this at the back of each endzone.

We did well vs. FIU (51-189) and if we can slow down Charlotte, I don't think their passing game would beat us (assuming the communication errors are addressed.
On offense, Charlotte gave up 15-15 for 295 yards. That is one of the most incredible statlines I have ever seen. They are going to load the box and we are going to have to beat them through the air.
Agreed.
Additionally, less than mediocre FCS Fordham threw for 296 yards vs UNCC,
If we cannot get our passing game going against the 49ers........

Personally, I think it is time to stop this two-QB thing and let SW slug it out on his on. He's the best we have. It's time to just let him be the QB for the entire game. There's no better way to let him grow up. Pulling him out every other series is just not helpful, hurts his confidence and certainly does not allow him to get the feel of the game.

I agree Aggie, it cant help his rhythm or confidence to be on the bench every other series. 2QB systems dont work.

Of all people you should remember the first platoon experiment, by Tom Landry. Staubach/Morton.
It was a failure

RE: UNCC game discussion
I second that. While I was frustrated with SW during last week's game and felt more comfortable when BL came in (this is literally the first time I've felt comfortable with saying that lol), we need to settle on one guy and let him go through it. See how he picks himself and the team back up when they're playing down, and build the comfort and chemistry with the rest of the offense. But if Bobby/Ron/etc think Blake should be the guy for the job, then by all means make the change. But switching up QB's every drive does nothing for the QBs or the offense in general. It kills momentum and chemistry, and not to mention SW is a southpaw which means the offense flips when he is in compared to when the right-handed QBs are in. When SW is in, the right side of the line is the blindside blocking, and when BL is in, it's the left side. That either means every drive the line has to completely change their assignments or the actual o-linemen are flipping, which I can't imagine is easy or good.

Yeah, I was pretty hard on SW after the first game but thought he looked pretty good in the first quarter against FIU and didn't understand pulling him. I guess the staff decided that's what they were going to do before the game regardless of what happened on the field.

What is shocking and eye opening is an undersized quarterback, unranked out of high school, no scholarship offer, walk on QB Blake LaRussa was given the green light late in November of his redshirt year to be ready to play as QB2 over 3-4 star Bentley, has been ahead of a 3 star Drayton Arnold on the depth chart, started over a 2 star junior college transfer Jordan Hoy and now seems to be splitting time with a 2 star Steven Williams. This all points to position coaching and recruiting problems over the last few years.

I agree with the old adage, especially on this level of play. If you have two QBs, then you have none.

We may never know how Shuler Bentley might have developed had he been able to mature behind a proper OL, run support, and acceptable WR play. He was thrown to the dogs.
Same with SW. He was also thrown to the dogs w/o a proper OL, run support, or a full compliment of WRs.
DW succeeded because he could run. SW is our guy because he can run (BW said so himself).
(I still don't understand the Drayton Arnold saga, because he too can run)
At some point, this program must rid itself of the "savior quarterback" mentality, and try to develop an OL and a more versatile run scheme.

RE: UNCC game discussion
I've never been to a spring game or anything like that. Although I hear quite a bit about Arnold possibly being the best of the bunch of QBs. To those that have seen him play, why is that? What are you seeing that the coaches aren't? What makes him better than SW or anyone else?
Just curious really.

This past spring game DA had command of the offense moving the ball around. He looked the best. If I was grading qb play during the spring game it would have been
1. DA
2. BL
3. SW
