This could be an interesting game.

On offense the 49ers run predominantly the spread with some pro set looks.
Freshman QB Chris Reynolds is smallish but a fairly accurate passer.
He is no threat to run.
The rush is led by Jr. Benny LeMay who had a credible season in 2017.
Neither phase of their offense sets the world on fire. The 49ers run more but so far the pass has been more effective.

On defense the 49ers run a 3-4. It held App State to a respectable 4 yds per carry and Fordham to -9 yards.
We likely will not run well on UNCC.
The 49er pass defense can be exploited. It is the most vulnerable aspect of their program. Swiss Cheese.

The Charlotte kicker Jonathan Cruz is excellent. 5/5 FGs on the season including a 54 yarder vs Appy. 100% on xtra points.

This game will come down to ODU quarterback play, and whether our defense plays for an entire game.
It is certainly very winnable.
However, based on the the Charlotte kicking game and home field advantage:

UNCC 30
ODU 24

I would be surprised if Davis doesn’t see the field next week. Our lack of a running game is crippling given our QB situation. Cox is a power running back and we desperately need a complimentary speedster or scatback.

Any word what's up with RB Matt Geiger he hasn't dressed in the last two games. He looked good in spring ball and was mentioned just about every other day in preseason camp write ups.

I don't know what to make of ODU or their chances Saturday but if this game is played, I imagine it'd be a very low scoring, butt-ugly affair.

Someone said he was injured. Last night's game took a toll as well.

It is irrelevant without an OL that can run block or proper FBS caliber run blocking schemes. Isiah Harper and others have plenty of speed. There are no running lanes and the awful play calling keeps 9 men in the box. To have any hope, we will have to pass first in order to establish any sort of running game. Since we have only FCS caliber QBs, I am rapidly losing any hope for a decent season.

Best thing to hope for is a postponement for several weeks. Can't beat anybody playing and coaching the way they are now.

I can't believe we are favored on the road. I figure Charlotte will be pumped to have a good chance to get their first win ever over us, and with the game being at their place will likely be successful. Some gamblers are likely to make some money betting on the 49ers.

He did not play in 2013. I think that was Marquise Williams.

Charlotte is who they always are. They are going to try to run power all game long. We have to be able to stop the run game. We did well vs. FIU (51-189) and if we can slow down Charlotte, I don't think their passing game would beat us (assuming the communication errors are addressed.

On offense, Charlotte gave up 15-15 for 295 yards. That is one of the most incredible statlines I have ever seen. They are going to load the box and we are going to have to beat them through the air.
