RE: I have been a hunter my whole life, but this is sick and horrible....
Every nation has their own laws.
Just like I would not expect their laws to extend to us, we should not expect our laws to extend to them.
That said, though I am not a hunter (I hope the day doesn't come that will cause me to regret that) I do not have a problem with hunting per se.
If the information provided in this story is accurate then it seems by hunting this particular animal a real problem was eliminated.
Regardless, she should NOT be threatened or harassed for this.
It would behoove those harassing her to understand she knows how to use a gun.

I think you misunderstand.
I'm not "triggered", I just happen to disagree.
You are free to feel as you wish about hunting certain animals (I'm in agreement with you). However, being a Republican who leans Libertarian, I don't think we should be forcing our beliefs/values/ideals on other people in other countries. Let them decide for themselves what's best for them and their countries. I also don't think that people who feel differently about big game hunting should be "punished" for their opposing viewpoint.
That's all I'm saying.

I'll take it further, If I was Trump, I would remove all troops from the DMZ until they combat their dog meat trade. Any country that eats dog and cat is a backwards culture that is unworthy of respect.
You want to know why America is so advanced ?
You want to know why other countries haven't put as so much as one satellite into space ?
It is because our culture is superior to theirs. And they know it. Why they hate us. IMO, the refugee crisis should be kicked aside by the UN and the crisis of the Chinese and Koreans eating cat and dog should spark international outrage.
You want this world to advance ?
Either let other countries wither on the vine -or- force them to Americanize. Worked for Japan. And they don't eat cat and dog.
ehh. i like that there is so much variety in this world. i don't want people to stop eating dog. american culture isn't particularly noteworthy. i like it alright but it's so scattered to find any common ground. i personally adore latin american culture with it's small town mi familia appeal and great f*ckin food.
i don't get pissy if people don't like what i've got to say, it's just enough for me to be heard. and, i will be heard

There's a difference between being bothered by an opinion and just not agreeing. Yours is an opinion that definitely sits at the extreme, IMO. It's gonna get some push back.

I don't have a good opinion of people who go out on these hunts, but after some research I'm not against the legality of the hunts themselves.
These hunts pay people and support families. These hunts keep poacher numbers down (by funding enforcement and by giving potential poachers legitimate work). These hunts control population.

I don't have any problem with this. How is this any different than deer hunting except that its a giraffe?
I'm not sure. I'm not sure what the allure of killing a giraffe is either. Again I'm not into hunting animals for trophy. This past year I went on my first bear hunt. My wife asked what the plan was if I killed one. I said skin it, and take the meat to a processor. She freaked out about eating one. But like I told her, I don't go hunting to just kill. The meat is good and considered a delicacy. She asked why I didn't eat snakes. Told her first off I don't go looking to kill snakes and secondly how does she know we haven't.
Rattlesnake is pretty good.
So I've heard. I do my best to leave snakes alone. They have a job.
Yea, around here, I move snakes (even the occasional copperhead) to the adjacent wooded areas. If they are around, its because there is food around. When the food is gone, they move on.
Over in Arkansas, there was a doctor who would take rattlesnake as barter if the person couldnt pay.

Nothing wrong with hunting for food, but I've got to wonder about some of those folks that want nothing other than to put a trophy on the wall. I used to know this guy (through somebody else) that had a huge room full of full mounts of monkeys, a lion, zebra heads, etc. If they could shoot back I might be a little more interested but there's nothing sporting about shooting an animal that doesn't have a chance.

throw a little fish out on a hook, you reel in a lager fish. Throw a larger fish out on a hook, you come in with even a bigger fish.
I've caught 200 pound fish that swallowed a 5 pound jack, whole. I've caught 50 pound fish that turned into 25 pounds before I go him to the boat.

Haha, I agree. If you really want to impress me you need to hang a picture the animal being defeated in hand to hand combat.
A trophy is supposed to mean you beat something. Bringing home an animal head that you paid to have picked out for you in a controlled environment is just the most expensive participation trophy.

I'm going to guess the animal doesn't walk right up to you and let you blow it to smithereens.
I think that's why the call it "hunting".
Although, I've had a couple of deer run across the highway into my fender. I've never hit a deer. They hit me.

And plenty of people do the hunting. African trophy hunting however...large scale fish in a barrel. Not very much risk of coming out empty handed.

I agree 100%. There are some animals that should NEVER be hunted.
Rhinos, Lions, Tigers, Giraffes, Elephants, Dogs, Cats, Horses, Whales, Pandas, etc....
Panda? Panda is excellent. You need to slow cook it though, or it's real tough. .

Yeah, I remember a story a couple of years ago about a farmer being eaten by his hogs. They suspect he had a heart attack and died in the pen, but they weren't certain of that.
