Pants is way better than Cattles.

I agree Pants is/was WAY better than Cattles. I must admit I actually enjoyed Tony's shows the most because he had local sports folks that could/would talk local sports and he had quite a few national folks that were really good as well, I don't miss his antics or talking about food though.

Not to bring up old arguments, but the best thing to happen to local sports radio was firing Tony. The guy sucked up to whoever was paying him, and insulted anyone who didn't agree with him. Cattles was excellent once he learned about the area. Pants never made a connection with the locals.

Worst news ever. Good thing I renewed my Sirius XM for a year, so I can listen to music or NPR. Unfortunately, with Will Cain as the national ESPN feed, that isn't much of an option. I was listening to Bomani Jones a lot in the afternoon, before his show ended. I did like a lot of Tony Mercurio's guests, like Phil Steele, but I don't miss Tony at all.

And normally I wouldn't give a whit about typos (god above knows I've fat-fingered my way through everything from technical documents to tweets). But Baloney Tony is so insufferable when someone else screws up that it's fun to tweak him.

Shows you how little I've paid attention to the guy over the years: I didn't realize he was doing his show for a Christian talk station. Last I heard he was doing two shows a week at a classic country station over at Langley Speedway.

Apparently, he got dropped when the outlaw radio LMA expired and they started simulcasting The Tide. They're doing local news on that AM station now.

Listening to a baby cry for 20 hours is preferable to Tony. He was downright horrible.

AM850 is where it’s at! Clay Travis, Dan Patrick, Herd, Rich Eisen...your missing the boat on ESPN.

Tony is butthurt on facebook about Cattles coming back... Probably got a clog in his straw from sucking gravy off his plate.
I don't care for either guy.

I like the High School Sports Talk show on Saturdays with Hatfield and Coach Young. Wish they have a college show similar to the high school show. We have 12 colleges with athletic programs within 50 miles of Norfolk to support a college show. If their signal reaches Richmond market maybe 18 to 20 colleges could be talked about.

There was some local content on Cattles show. He talked about his bar.
