RE: ODU @ MTSU
How is it possible that every d coach we get is the worst ever? Football defense and free throws. I'm tired of it.

What makes you think Nagy could do that. He can stop a simple run up the middle on 3rd and 9. Nagy is the worst defensive coordinator ever. Yes our guys make some plays but that is basically out of shear talent. Not because Nagy has them in the right position. The defense should have won the Rice game for us. Instead the almost lost it for us against a 1-9 team at home when our season was on the line. I have no faith in Nagy, we need a new D coordinator like yesterday.
Our offense was the problem vs. Rice, not the defense. And the defense in general, has been one of the better CUSA defenses. Our defense has performed much better than the offense this year (as expected, we lost our best WR and have a true freshman QB).

Rich Nagy is the best DC ODU has ever had. Unfortunately that’s not saying much. I agree that he should be feeling heat. The defense has regressed from last year. The linebackers have been terribly inconsistent, which is the position he personally coached.

Gotta say, Duhart, Williams and Cox make a nice core for the offense next year. I think the defense is going to miss Butumi.

The defense is a hair better this year than last year. THough, that could change and we could be a hair worse after MTSU. In general, the defense has been about the same.

I want to see more Sinclair. I've been impressed by him. Cox is more of a grinder, Sinclair is more of a Lawry type back.

I have 2 issues with Nagy. First, it seems like the defense cant ever play a complete game (not sure how much I count the Charlotte game). Either its over before it even starts (UNC) or they give up the lead late (NT, WKU and Rice). Nagy's defense has blown 3 4th quarter leads this year. For most of the game we stopped Rice but then in the 4th quarter their QB turns into Michael Frickin Vick. That should not happen. Luckly SW was able to steal it back against rice but I wish we could have held on against NT or WKU. Second, the 3rd down and long defense is terrible. I have watched pretty much ever minute of every game this year and from the eye test. They simply cant get off the field when they should be able to. And nagy doesnt do anything different. He still plays that vanilla, bend dont break crap. No blitzes no nothing.

Nagy and Scott are ultra conservative. Have to think this is what Wilder wants. For a guy willing to try on side kicks and other gimmicks, not sure why he plays so vanilla.

I agree, I think Sinclair has been dealing with a hamstring injury. Has looked good in a small sample size tho

The running back I am looking forward to seeing next year is Perkins. He will have had a full year to get well, get bigger, get stronger and get faster. Hopefully his high school senior year knee injury is now a non-factor, and he is good to go. If so, with him and Cox as a tandem, we will be strong at running back.

The stuff coming from some of their fans on the main board. Based on their posts you'd think the program is on the verge of imploding. Not sure if it's a dramatic few or something more. But one person posted about some players making fun of fans jerseys and such. Otherwise I've not the slightest.
Posted from mobile device. Hopefully it's coherent.

A fan bought a game worn jersey from an auction and players were laughing at him.
