Mostly from the windows. I have a feeling that there was probably a leak in the roof too. Our firm is closed until Tuesday. Another one of our attorneys had to be helioed out from her house. We are now trying to figure out how to go about doing business and helping her clean her house. We estimate that she probably got about 10-15 feet of water since she is close to the Conroe Dam.

My sister says FEMA will call it a total loss if water gets deeper than 5 feet, which it was in her house. They boated over there today to check on it.

When did I ever say he wasn't? And trust me...we're definitely dealing with it. BOY are we dealing with it!
I think you will have a hard time dealing with the next 7+ years of Trump. Might want to go ahead and make a reservation at the clinic for a mental health evaluation. I suspect you are too far down in the hole to be saved.
That's nice...but who the **** are you? Never seen you here before, but you are somehow qualified to make evaluations of me.
I'm nutbushtiger, nice to meet you. According to the join dates we have been around these boards about the same amount of time and I have been reading a while. You post about 10x more than I ever have so there is plenty of material to be able to judge where you stand on most things. Please never stop, hard to find the kind of entertainment you provide. Here is to 7 more years, high five buddy.

Bullet... you've got messages disabled so I can't respond to your PM, but you're right.
You've got it.
They built a new 'Storey' building that houses a theater and lots of offices in the back parking lot creating a quad. Great place... Great people. Quietly do a whole lot of good things.
I loved Dr Moore (whom you probably know) and Sid Davis (music director) probably saved my son.... Rev Moore was replaced by a younger man Dr Tom Pace whom I really like as well, but not as much as Dr Moore.
3 things, are you ready? My favorite line from him.

Ready.
(We loved Dr. Moore. Dr. Pace was not my style, but he's done some good things. I really liked his blog on the political atmosphere a few months ago.)

While you're in some of these spots could you see if you notice any "direct to source" type things that perhaps some of us on here that can't make a trip down there could contribute to?
We can all find the Red Cross, Samaritans purse etc., and we give there already, but I for one would like to contribute directly to a place in need of a few bucks for formula, dry socks, toothbrushes, laundry detergent whatever it may be. If you happen to notice something. God knows you've got enough going on as it is.

And trump is there with his $40 hat advertisement and wishing for adulation, and big and boisterous crowds. That okay with you?
Quit parroting that dumb*** "take" from that second-rate website. I watched and heard that entire thing, he was praising the crowd, not taking credit for it or whatever. He's saying what great people, what a crowd.
Then he's saying "We want this to be the model of how this type of thing should be handled, driving that objective to his team surrounding him. That's exactly what he and they should be striving for. Success.
You rather he said "let's botch this as badly as we can and make sure these poor foik suffer even further"? Good grief.
He wore a USA hat. Big effing deal. Should he have put on his USSR hat instead? Damn, man.
What second rate website?
And as for what I want, it's quite simple. Stop making this thing about yourself trump, that's pretty much it. I realize that's just who he is, a clinical narcissist, but I still have hope the one day he will drop it and at least publicly show an iota of empathy.
Ah, "empathy". The NEW, new fave buzz word of the lefists. Must have heard that word used more on the alphabet soup networks yesterday and today than the combined rest of my lifetime.
Guess the TPM was issued right on time and all the lazy news readers and others got their copies.
Bluewave media or wherever your link went to. Barely intelligible.

Always kind of funny to read New York articles about flyover country. There's a picture showing flooding in Houston's "downtown." Its actually the American General Complex with about 4 buildings 2 miles west of downtown at Montrose and Allen Parkway. It is, however, an amazing picture if you know the area. Buffalo Bayou is normally about 10 feet wide and just a few feet deep in the very center of the picture. There's about a 150 yard wide, 30 feet deep channel, which you can identify from the dense trees surrounding it. Not only is that filled, but Allen Parkway and Memorial Drive, 4 lane roads on either side are inundated and the water is well into the parking lots of the American General Complex which is a little higher elevation than Allen Parkway.
New York state has sent about 100 National Guard with boats according to the article.
They expect to have some 24,000 Nat'l Guard en route and on site by this evening and tomorrow. That will go a long way.
Samaritans Purse like wise plans to have a crew of 1000 people or more on an ongoing basis every day clearing out houses, stripping them to the studs so they can dry, fixing electrical, mold issues, whatever it may be. Say they expect to be doing that everyday for the rest of this year and into next year. All volunteers.
This is going to be a looooooong time recovering.

Out delivering food. One of the bars that I visit is preparing meals for displaced families and we are about to go drop them off.

Wish I could be there. Volunteered to go today when they were asking for volunteers at my unit. We'll see where it leads. Either way, God bless Texas.

If 5 feet of water is the Rule, then some of those homes in Meyerland have suffered three total losses in the last three years?
When will FEMA buy them out?
By the way, if you look on Brays Bayou about 1/2 mile inside the Loop, you will notice a cofferdam and a diversion pond that's been built since Allison.
These structures slow the flow to save the Med Center, and cause a back up into Meyerland.

Leave it to CNN to find the general ( I think he's was a general) who was in charge during Katrina. All hands need to be on deck. Never been to that part of Texas, but I can only imagine how far and wide the area is where people are stuck.
