Quote:A Houston police officer has been confirmed dead after he drowned in floodwaters from Tropical Storm Harvey that left him trapped in his vehicle.
Sgt. Steve Perez, 60, died on Sunday morning during Harvey, Houston Mayor Sylvester Turner confirmed during a news conference Tuesday. Perez was heading to work when he was caught in floodwaters.
Houston Police recovered Perez's vehicle at 8 a.m. Tuesday morning.
"He was trying different routes, and took a wrong turn," one unidentified high-ranking official told the Houston Chronicle on Tuesday. Turner tweeted that Perez drove two and a half hours ahead of work, looking for a safer route to report for duty.
Quote:Perez's wife said the police sergeant told her "I've got work to do" when she asked him to reconsider going to work, Turner tweeted.
He claims his side is better, but I never heard anyone from the other side make this type of suggestion because of politics.
I saw in the related articles, one by Jen Saki that says it's too early for President Trump to go to Texas.
It's too early. No, now it's too late. He wore the wrong hat. FLOTUS wore the wrong shoes.
Truly, sick people.
Save it buddy. What comes around goes around. We listened to it for 8 ******* years.
And likewise, deal with the fact that Trump's the POTUS.
When did I ever say he wasn't? And trust me...we're definitely dealing with it. BOY are we dealing with it!
I think you will have a hard time dealing with the next 7+ years of Trump. Might want to go ahead and make a reservation at the clinic for a mental health evaluation. I suspect you are too far down in the hole to be saved.

Better late than never.
People are dying and are fighting for their lives and here you are with your negativity. How about shutting your damn mouth. You are what's wrong with this country. Instead of coming together, you are trying to rip this country apart. ******* amazing!

Thanks for being part of the solution UTSA, not part of the problem.
I'm sure fitty is gassing up the Geo Metro now to come help out, as he is in-state as well.

And trump is there with his $40 hat advertisement and wishing for adulation, and big and boisterous crowds. That okay with you?
Quit parroting that dumb*** "take" from that second-rate website. I watched and heard that entire thing, he was praising the crowd, not taking credit for it or whatever. He's saying what great people, what a crowd.
Then he's saying "We want this to be the model of how this type of thing should be handled, driving that objective to his team surrounding him. That's exactly what he and they should be striving for. Success.
You rather he said "let's botch this as badly as we can and make sure these poor foik suffer even further"? Good grief.
He wore a USA hat. Big effing deal. Should he have put on his USSR hat instead? Damn, man.

It's sickening.
WTF are you even talking about
Yea, I've seen plenty of "rich" people waist deep in their own living rooms. I guess they shouldn't bother coming back to help, leave the poor to their own devices in fitworld. Very odd.

Yeah, I just saw on Fox News what was probably a $1.5 million house on Lake Houston that was flooded up to the 2nd story. The poor woman is 80 years old and just lost her husband, and now her beautiful house.
You can tell he's struggling to script a narrative in order to push blame and point fingers. It's truly bizarre.

Good for her. Dumbasss reporter. Ladies soaking wet, hungry, no doubt exhausted with little kids in tow, and she isn't offering to help out, just pimping the tragedy for ratings.

You'd criticize them if they didn't come back to help. Geeez, they are trying to help people and you are just looking for something to complain about.

Nothing that some good old-fashioned wealth redistribution wouldn't fix, right?

That, and some more illegals coming in to fix all of the broken sheet. That sounds like a Fitty utopia.
Since our resident leftists want to bash Trump so bad I'd like to point out that Trump declared a disaster in Texas Friday night almost simultaneous to landfall. It took Obama almost four days to issue a declaration in reference to the flooding from Hurricane Joaquin in October of 2015 and three days after landfall of Hurricane Matthew last fall.
I am trying to see if I can go volunteer again, but this time at the GRB since they still need volunteers. I might take a night shift there, but I dont know if I want to leave my family here alone.

I know you have major issues with this President Tom..but..Your criticisms here have exactly zero to do with the Federal response to this disaster. All is see from your responses on this subject is petty BS. If you have a criticism of the job being done then fine. Otherwise..Your comments pretty much make you look like a fcking fool.
