If anyone has 2, let me know as brother was looking for some. I never got the chance due to work to login using my 2 emails - 1 as employee & 1 as ST holder I guess (came to different emails)

How difficult would it have been to include concert tickets with season ticket purchase? Maybe could have sold additional season tickets as a result.

What they should have done is plan for and expect problems. The 20K seems kinda arbirary. I'm sure they could open up an additional 1000 or so tickets to ONLY season ticket holders and alumni members, possibly ONLY those who did not receive tickets.

Not everyone who wanted tickets got tickets. Boo hoo. 20,000 tickets were distributed and there were going to be complaints no matter how it was done. As it is, many people will be exposed to UAB football and some may go to the game as a result of the concert. I'm sure there will be complaints about that too if some one comes to their first game in a Bama shirt.

I agree, that site can hold more than 20k. It's where Crawfish Boil used to be and I know they had more than 20k out there. It was hard to find attendance info, but the 2010 Crawfish Boil listed attendance at 45k at the same site we're using for Sam Hunt.

It's pretty simple. Donate to the NAS and you would have gotten tickets.

I am NAS member and I never received an email from them about the concert. I was not able to get tickets but a friend of mine who has no association with UAB got tickets. This was not handled perfectly.

It's great that people not associated with UAB got tickets. sam hunt is about the biggest name in country music right now. He just broke the record for most consecutive weeks at number one on the charts. Of course there was going to be huge demand. Thinking that all UAB fans that want them should get tickets or the project was a failure is pretty self serving.

The bright side is that whoever's there is going to get a heaping helping of UAB football, and that's a good thing.

Something we've never failed to squander over the years is good will among the local populace.

Something that has helped that is that high school coaches all over the state know and love Bill Clark. That wasn't true of Watson, Callaway or McGee. A lot of people who have never cared about UAB are pulling for us because they just like Bill Clark.

Now, a very popular musician is giving a free concert in support of us. Suddenly, maybe, UAB football is cool.

Imagine.

My group of non-UAB friends got tickets. They all asked me for UAB shirts to wear to the concert. And they are going to the game the next day.

Very cool. I wish we were this smart.

Well, Panama, it does help that Sam was a QB at UAB. It gave us a bit of an inside track.

Just wait until Sam Hunt says "Go Blazers!" and half the crowd screams back "Roll Tide!"
