Going to start getting serious NFL scout attention now.
Testament to not only the player's work effort, but the strength and conditioning staff and coaching staff to help get these guys ready, love to see multiple EMU players drafted this year's draft.

Honestly, Wiley more of a freak of nature for his size, athletically. The only number that was weak was his bench, which was only 20 I believe. Based on his combine numbers, NFL probably questioning why he wasn't at least 1st team All-MAC, and dominating. Would guess they're probably thinking he might have a shot at guard in NFL, vs. OT.
Probably gets drafted late rounds now, as opposed to free agent material prior to this workout.
Congrats to him!

RE: Unofficial 2017 Spring Ball Thread
I assume POC, Wiley and Gardner are all late round possibilities or FAs.
BTW, a little O/T but WMU should have Corey Davis - mid 1st round to late 1st round,
Taylor Moton will go high as will Zach Terrell who had an excellent pro day.
I can see both Moton and Terrell going day two. Terrell may be zooming up draft boards.

Apparently POC didn't get the numbers he wanted, so he'll be trying again at the Michigan pro day on Friday. High risk, high reward strategy, but really no choice if he felt he under performed at EMU day. All 32 NFL teams will be at Michigan, so he'll get the chance to compete right next to Taco Charlton, who many are projecting as a first round pick now. If POC performs well, highly likely he's a late 5th/6th round pick. If he goes unnoticed, may end up free agent.
Gardner likely a free agent. Based on his head turning workout, I would think Wiley is the most likely to get drafted, as of today.
Moton definitely helped himself, unlikely to go any later than the second round.
Terrell will be lucky to hear his name called, based on his size and arm strength, and most mock drafts at this point: http://www.cbssports.com/nfl/draft/prosp...gs/2017/QB
Would be great if we get at least 1 drafted, and a couple others a FA opportunity. Never know what can happen once the camps start........just need a chance.

I hope the Lions draft him as a backup QB.
Probably get him as a FA, instead of wasting a draft pick they need to fill more immediate needs.
I'd be surprised with that pro day if he didn't get drafted. I saw your CBS list of QBs and it had him behind Rush at CMU. Today, I see Terrell getting drafted and Rush a FA.

Inquiring minds want to know - if this unit can come close to last year I feel very good about our team

Armstrong at LT, Nielson at RT. Nowhere near last year's starters at this point. New position for both so still a lot of time to get reps and work on technique. The Juco is not a starter, looks like a whiff at this point. Again, we'll see if a lot more reps helps. Backup at best at this point.

Thanks for the info. Who's at guard, opposite Leatiota, with Armstrong moving outside?

That's a bit of good news.......apparently Donnellon has stepped up, put on good weight, and leapfrogged the rest of the older guys that just can't seem to compete at this level.
Tallman working at center right now. He's always been a big, tough guy, just didn't quite have the feet for outside. Moved him inside to center and he may have found a spot for the next 2 years.
Basically we have an entire roster of interior linemen. Hopefully this new Oline coach finally rings the alarm bells and they have success this year landing a number of quality high school and juco OT's.
Think about it, the only real, quality OT EMU has had on the roster in years has been Wiley. They had to convert a TE to fill the other spot the last 2 years. Somebody needs to get that figured out ASAP. Wins begin in the trenches, right.

It will be interesting to see how Dakota Ramsey fits in once he arrives on campus.

No doubt about it, ETough; typically the team that controls the line of scrimmage, wins the game. Interesting that with the previous regime, our weakness was DL and strength OL. Now it appears the tables have turned. I wonder if Sady Sow could add depth to OL. Going into fall cap, it appears our glaring weaknesses are OTs and TEs.

Dear Friends,
Let's please wait to see how things iron out. Glaring weakness here, trouble there, etc. I'll be the first to agree that any team has holes to fill, but I still say, let us see what develops. I know too, that we all want the best players we can find and get them to Eastern. So in that respect, I'm on board with that.

Ken,
In all due fairness, the discuss has seemed to me to be even handed. A lot of positive position reviews plus a few negative reviews.
I appreciate the honesty of the posts.
