Nice to see Kilby on the roster. With a little more weight, he's a difference maker!!!!
Team is trying to get Dawson another year on the DL as well. Going to have more depth on the interior of the DL this year, than last, when we were already very deep. Seem to be missing one of the Juco DL recruits this year, from the same school as Dawson and Granger, although his name escapes me right now.

Hopefully the move of Smith from DL to interior OL gets him motivated......he has the talent. This would also allow Nielsen to give it a shot on the outside. Also hoping Donnellon makes that big jump from 1st year deer in the headlights, to second year contributor.

Also interesting that Stiebeling is ahead of Porter on depth chart.....although it makes sense. If Roback stays healthy, need to start getting Stiebeling some reps if possible.
Question about Porter and QB?

Can Porter play some WR, for example, to get him on the field if not at QB?

BTW, I didn't see a depth chart. All I saw was a chart where players were listed by position numerically.

Porter will not play WR......we have plenty of guys at those spots. Some promising freshmen coming in as well, that he'd just be taking valuable reps from in practice.

Porter is really just an insurance policy against a Roback injury this year. Tough spot for him, but it is what it is.

I believe that guy signed with someone else therefore there is no one from Dodge CC in this recruiting class.
As I said in the pre-spring FB thread, it would be nice to have updated weights to see how the winter conditioning has worked out.

ETough might be referring to Desmond Kelly who is signed but NOT a mid-year eligible.

I assume the only players listed in this spring prospectus are those on campus. New recruits to start school this summer aren't listed.

Thanks correct about Kelly from Dodge City, I know we were looking at a number of players from that school.
Yep, that's him. Not quite as big as Granger or Dawson, but much more mobile, and still looks strong enough to push the pocket. Should step into the rotation immediately, basically taking the spot vacated by Brown's graduation.
Anyone know the status of the injuries from last fall? Sexton, Vann, Brown,, Dieuly?

Wouldn't count on it.

Dieuly in a boot after successful surgery. Not sure about the rest. Assuming Vann should be ready to go by now as well.

Bizarre situation. You have way more inside info than any of us, so I'll take your word for it. But seeing him still on the roster, and retweeting Chris Creighton, makes me wonder what's going on with him.

Let's just see where we're at when actual bodies show up in actual pads for Spring ball, and again this summer. Bizarre stuff happens with these kids all the time.
Going to be a lot of shuffling on the OL until they figure out the starting 5. Right now the 3 returning starters are Leatiota, Armstrong, and Nielsen, although their positions could end up being different than last year. A couple new names that are trying to push their way into the starting five include Tallman and Donnellon. Dervil has a lot of work to do at this point, nowhere near an automatic starter. This group could be shuffled all the way thru the early part of the season before a solid 5 is determined.

Hopefully we add another juco tackle this spring early summer

Exactly. Tallman could be our new center. I think Donnellon is working inside with Leatiota, and we've got other guys with at least some limited experience inside. Outside is still the major issue and they'd love for Nielsen to step up, but not sure he has the feet or technique at this point, although he'll get a lot of opportunity to develop as we approach next season. I think Armstrong is playing tackle out of necessity at this point, but his game reps at the position over the last 2 years were shaky at best. He's definitely better inside at this point, but he'll also get a lot more reps to improve over the next 6 months. Not giving up on Dervil already, and hopefully the extra reps against better competition will improve his game as well.

Once our OT's can hold their own against Harris and Crosby on a daily basis, they'll be ready to take the field with confidence, and our offense will be ready to improve upon last year.
Saw Anthony Brown in the pictures on the website. Glad he's back!

Yep, great kid! Tons of skill and depth at LB, in good shape there.
