It's just an illustration in a concept drawing. Really not a big deal.

I agree that it's a concept drawing. But isn't it a good idea to prevent an unforced error that would be a bigger deal to correct?

Looks like they had an open house yesterday for local media at the Patterson Center. Lots of videos and pics out there from inside the facility (don't have the technical capability to link/find them). Sam Khan Jr., formerly of the Chronicle and now with ESPN, had some good pics of how the Patterson Center will look from field level. I gotta say, it will look spectacular, and like it was an original part of the stadium, when it is completed.

Looks like they invited every local news channel out to tour with their cameras yesterday. Love it. What a difference it makes to have an active athletic department.

You can see it in background of this brief interview with Connor Cella to get a better sense of size from the field:

And with Trey Martin:

Are we going with white as our primary helmet this year? I thought the all white uniform we wore against UT looked sharp.

Every time I link a twitter picture on here, it never lasts. Not sure why/how they do that, but this one is a nice wide view for the time being:

Well, once again, that did not last long. Guess they don't like hot-linking on twitter.

Good question. I don't know that answer. But I agree that the all white look was excellent. This leads me to three questions:
1. Have we officially ditched gray as a primary and gone to white? Not that I'm complaining.
2. Are the whites helmets the blue helmets that we originally have, just painted white? It would not surprise me given the athletic budget.
3. What would it take for Rice to be able to wear their white uniforms at home, especially during August and September?

I liked it too. I wish we'd wear solid white on the road and solid blue at home, even a blue face mask.

When I was playing, our throwback uniforms were some of the team's favorite ones. Primarily the helmet: blue helmet, grey stripe down the middle, grey number, and grey face-mask. I think we wore them for a few weeks in a row in the fall of '12.

Why don't we have a grey alternate uniform? Or at least grey jerseys or pants. I think that'd look great too.

Agreed, the throwbacks looked very clean. I'd really be in favor of having more (any) gray in our uniforms.
