Definitely McGee.
I'm still going with Dr. Hilyer until I see a little more of Clark's body of work.
So far, so good though.

Man was definitley in over his head. And, for the record I thought he was good hire at first. He looked good on paper but his inexperience at head coach was obvious after a couple of games.

It was a step up career wise for McGee but a step down in class of program, and he didn't adjust. UAB is a step up career wise and class of football wise for HCBC and that makes a huge difference in approach.

A gump bet me McGee would get another D1 head coaching gig before UAB made a bowl game.
I like my chances.

Winning is great, but we have to keep in mind who we've beaten. FIU is up next and we barely beat them last season... we thought we'd roll over AAMU and they had us 14-0 in the 2nd qtr.
That said, I hope we trounce them like we did Troy.
And never again should we hire an assistant with no HC experience.

Clark will end up being the best.

I highly doubt McGee ever gets another chance to be a head coach. He really needs Petrino to coach until McGee is ready to retire as he may not be able to find worl elsewhere period.

As I told the gump, he may coach again, but not for a long, LONG time.

Hopefully, Louisville will lose 4-5 games a year, and keep the pressure on them!

The worst coach in UAB history was Eric Schumann.

Re-read the thread title.
And, if we are doing head coaches, no coach was ever worse at UAB than Neil Callaway.

McGee was tearing down the program through pure incompetence and a sociopathic ignorance of anything outside of himself.
Brown tore down the program, starting by intentionally gutting it of any moral compass/accountability, with machiavellian intent. That is, he eliminated anything that threatened him - his position, power, and/or reputation. The inevitable result was that when he HAD to go, he was going to leave scorched earth behind him...and that's exactly what he did.
Given the two, Brown was by far the worst for the UAB football program. Hell, I know McGee had less time to do his damage, but compare the rosters available to Callaway in his first game at Michigan State (just over 60 players with most being true freshmen or sophomores) and to Clark vs. Troy State. At least our holes were small enough to be pluggable with JUCOs this year.

Wrong.
Say what you want about Callaway. He wasn't welcome. He wasn't charismatic. He didn't win games. He did however clean up the cesspool that your boy Watson left behind, and left the program better than he found it.
McGoof was a petty, thin-skinned dilettante, detested by pretty much everybody. Oh, and he won even fewer games than Callaway.

Callaway nearly single-handedly destroyed UAB football.
Watson Brown shouldn't even be mentioned in this thread.

I think it's a great country we live in where someone who has no clue what they're talking about can chime in anyway.
