Congrats, sound like quite a get!

His final two were South Alabama and South Carolina. He will likely walk-on to the baseball team as well.

Nice commit! Hope you guys can hold on to him these high profile players are under a lot of pressure to go to a "Big Name" school.

Don't you guys know that sunbelt schools don't compete against P5 schools for prospects? What are you thinking? lol

Even if he doesn't stick getting a verbal from a 4-star recruit doesn't hurt your chances with other big name players.

He was on our offer list about a month ago, but I'd noticed about 2 weeks ago he was removed. Wonder if maybe he was adamant about staying in Mobile. Nice pick-up. Hope he stays.

He'd been steadily narrowing his list down. He was in Columbia this weekend and was one of three CBs given a chance to take the last spot they had at that position. At that point he was already seriously considering USA. so he chose not to take it and committed to South today.

Well at 4 stars he could be just another dude at South Carolina or top recruit at South Alabama, I think he made the right choice.

I wonder if he went to the camp at ga state. lulz

I would bet that it is but those things sometimes work out. Some of our best players in the late 1990s and early 200os were props. Some, like Corey Williams and Jon Bradley, went on to have success in the NFL.

This is awesome news, I look forward to seeing our 3 star DBs shut him down. Every Sun Belt team needs a 4-star or two in their recruiting class . Congrats South Alabama!

From what I hear he's a great kid from a good family. His high school is a private school and high on academics, so it shouldn't be about grades. Being able to play both football and baseball helped to sway his decision. Both USA coaches are on happy to work it out for him!

I was thinking the same thing...grade problems at St Paul's would be pretty rare. Also, he had other committable offers.

this is huge, not like its early in the recruiting, and the P5 schools haven't began their push for him, they all gave it their best shot and he still committed to South Alabama. Still, its a long way to Feb, if I was your HC, I would be calling him 2 or 3 times a week. Congrats
