What was that part at the bottom about Jim Delaney and CUSA? Is CUSA consulting with him or not?
Yep. He's been hired to work during realignment

That's what I was thinking as well, the center of mass in CUSA would shift east and really you wouldn't even need to replace any members, 10 is a good size for the conference.

UAB is on the AAC list . They are gone.

Depends on if AAC wants to go above 12. If they stay at 12 and succeed at getting the MWC schools, I think they stay. AAC could go to 14 if they can grab UAB and Army though.
San Diego State gains nothing from the AAC.

3 MWC and UAB gets AAC to 12.
The last round of re-alignment Colorado St and Air Force were tied together. Army would be a tougher get than the MWC schools but the only chance of them going is if Air Force joins.

The AAC of course would try to poach the MWC but unless ESPN gets the checkbook out in a serious way it's not going to happen.

If anything the mountain west should go into Texas for some schools

If this list is true , UAB, FAU and UTSA would probably get in. I'd like to bring marshall with that group

Charlotte over Marshall.
I thought playing schools halfway across this wide country was a problem and can cause schools to start losing and fans not to care? Either some people are lying to themselves or those schools in the AAC havent got that message.
From the article:

Former WAC Commish Karl Benson Wrote:"My advice [is], until you know what you're joining, are you really sure you want to make a move?" said Karl Benson, who once oversaw the largest FBS league in existence as commissioner of the 16-team WAC in the late 1990s. "Until you know what's left of the American, what are you getting into?"
ESPN will probably open the checkbook. They love their little projects.
They abhor schools located outside marketz, and ESPN gets to call all the shots.
That's how you get crap like Tulane and UAB over Southern Miss. Hope they enjoy woke-ass ESPN.

If they wind up taking only 1 or 2 schools from CUSA I say we have Delany reach out to the Belt and regionalize.

The 2 western divisions merge around CUSA HQ. The 2 eastern divisions merge around SB HQ (move Belt HQ to Charlotte COGS). Pick new names for both conferences. Roll on.

The idea they are targeting SDSU is laughable.

I am leaning toward this story is fake news. AAC leaked it to the press to get the AAC brand associated with poaching from MWC. Making it look like the AAC is stronger. They did the same thing with the “AAC poaching the Big 12” fake story.

This is their style. Media spin spin spin.

They will choose CUSA teams and spin that to the press as well.

Well maybe if USM "Woke-up" their dead azz program you would be getting overlooked by better conferences.

I imagine they'd rather have SDSU than UAB. Maybe if SDSU declines Blazes come on down?

Did you read the article? It stated to two programs most talked about by the AAC brass are Boise and UAB. UAB will take the invite like yesterday, Boise could also take it but do what TCU did back in the day when they were invited to the BE only to renege on the offer and go to the Big XII.

The article says "Boise State and UAB have been discussed most prominently among the five expansion candidates." That makes me think they're Plan A is UAB + some combination of 3 Mtn West schools. If that doesn't work, Plan B is UAB, FAU, UTSA, and one more. Either way, according to these rumors, UAB seems like it's in a good spot to get the call.

If the Mtn West play doesn't work out (and I'm skeptical it will) then I'd be happy with this collection of 4 making the move to the AAC.
