Some of the guys are mad that we turned down the Frisco Bowl as that game would have gotten them home by Christmas! But this bowl pays considerably more money so STF took the cash !

Being a secondary team I'm pretty sure the payout is lower. How do you know SF turned down that bowl. With this many teams available I'd be surprised we would turn down anything.

Wouldn't mind Frazier work his networking skills with their AD during this and get a 1-1 with them down the road. By far the best matchup we could have gotten with them not having a great offense/QB. Will allow our D to keep us in the game and hopefully the offense can score some.

No kidding....I can bet you the seniors on the team are extremely happy to play one more game.

On a Tuesday at 4:15pm, at least we're accustomed to that schedule!

But really, i'm not complaining. Wondering how CMU didn't get this game, but whatever, this is a good thing for us!

No No, I was not complaining, this is the best matchup NIU could get. Randy's note was that the players were complaining, I just said I can understand from their perspective why they are upset.

The way peoples' work schedules are, rearranging of holidays is a common practice. I always here of people having to celebrate Thanksgiving, Christmas and New Year's at times other than the calendar date. Try and work it out, fellas. Much of the world does.

I can understand the not being home for Christmas thing, but they’ll get over that quickly. There’s a Trophy on the line, and it’s against DUKE. Would be a great boneyard victory. End our bowl losing streak!

That’s absurd that players were bitching about being not home for Christmas. You’re getting to play in a bowl game vs an ACC school on national TV. That’s embarrassing....

Why even play football if your only concern is getting home as soon as possible to get the season over? What a joke

And another thing, these bowl practices are HUGE for the development of the younger kids. Absolutely HUGE. We used to run live scrimmages with the freshman during bowl practices and they had a huge opportunity to make a name for themselves and get a lot more practice reps before spring ball. These kids should be chomping at the bit to take advantage of that

I appreciate the honesty of a bowl game in Detroit in December, but don’t say that publicly. They should be excited to take on an ACC opponent in a bigger bowl game rather than playing another G5 in Idaho.
