Am I the only one who appreciates the advantages of experience and continuity? Darrell Dickey has been a Division 1 head coach and is currently right in the middle of our recruiting efforts. Why does nobody ever bring his name up? Why do we think Barry Odom can succeed as a head coach? Not against him - just asking (same as I did before Porter was hired).

I'm 52. I believe experience is important, but Dickey would not keep the fan base excited. I think he would come across as a retread. Not to mention his HC resume isn't all that impressive. I think we can do better.

Chizik is a good DC - UNC is top 20 in scoring defense at 19 ppg.

He's 38-38 as a HC.

Take out the 14-0 season and he's 24-38 in 5 other seasons for an average of 4.8 wins and 7.6 losses.

I'm on board with Kiffin. I've said on more than one occasion that we need a high level recruiter, and the dude can recruit. If he's gone after 3 years to UCLA then I'm fine with that....we just pocket a $3MM buyout.

I would like to think a new HC could retain a few assistants to keep the class intact. I've been very pleased with how the '16 class is shaping up. We would be finally be at the mix, talent level by position and class that we've been striving to. Some really good talent at the QB, WR, and DB positions coming in. I'm hopeful that the rumor around CJF is just that...a rumor. However, there are some strong signs that he is leaving.

What is this recruiting thing people always bring up as a plus to hire someone. If you have the right facilities and you are in a P5 it seems like it would get a trillion times easier.

I thought recruiting mostly depended on if you reside in the P5, your historic significance to FB, where you physically reside and financial backers.

OK..n/m. I suppose it could have something to do with your own track record.

Only stating that the 14-0 season sure seems like an aberration against Chizik's overall career record.

But if you want, you can take out one of his 3-9 seasons as well and his overall career record is 21-29 for an average or 5.3 wins and 7.3 losses.
