Reminds me of an Alabama game against Kentucky when Alabama had a big lead and Nick Saban was running out the clock. Alabama was close to the red zone with a couple minutes left. Nick Saban was not wanting to score. He was running out the clock. Well after a run intended to run some clock Kentucky called a timeout. After another run Kentucky called another timeout. It pissed Nick Saban off and the next play he ran a fake FG for the first down and then had his QB throw to the end zone.

Jerry Moore did that against South Carolina State in the FCS playoffs a few years back. Game was over and App was just running down the clock inside their own 30. SCS coach kept calling timeouts to be a dick. So they threw a 70 yard long bomb TD pass. SCS coach after the game said he deserved it.

I was at that game and completely forgot about that happening. Priceless really. My original thought on that was that Jerry isn't just an old man with no ego. He flexed it in that call and showed some attitude. Looking back on that and Satterfields propensity to do the same thing, I'd say this staff is finally getting back to the cohesion that was around from 2004 to 2011 or so.

Jerry is a Texan, after all. Don't mess with Texans!

Minor clarification on the SC State game. 30 yard pass and I believe that Armanti signaled to Quick to head for the endzone.

Time and place. When I used to occasionally do appraisals in the rougher areas of ATL I could tell you some crazy stories. Needless to say I mastered the three point turn. But yes for this a little weak.
Just stay out of 30318 unless you own a tank.

30318 annnnd head was on swivel in 30310,11,13,14,15,16,37,44,54.

I got approached 4 different times by bums asking for money. When I tried to change direction to avoid them, they stalked me down. One guy followed me into Subway. I ended up getting him a 6 inch sub just to leave me alone. Then one of the previous bums approached me as I was leaving and was mad because I got the other guy something and not him. This was during the daytime. Needless to say, I did not leave the hotel room after dark. There are bums in Charlotte, but not nearly as aggressive as the ones in Atlanta.

I have a no eye contact policy when it comes to pan-handlers. The bums in Ashville are very pushy as well. I had to berate a guy once for not taking no for an answer.

You're not speaking their language. Next time you're approached, start shaking your head and say "Nah, man, I got child support due next week. Three kids, man." And keep walking. I guarantee they will say, "Ah, man, I understand." And they'll go find another target. It never fails.
That dude in Asheville responded "there's an ATM over there" when I don't him I don't carry cash. I told him the restaurant next to the ATM probably has job applications. Now I don't even glance at them. If they solicit me I just say "nah" and give them an angry look. So far so good.
Works every time.

Pffft...

I spent a good bit of my life in that area. But yeah... a tank would help.

I'm positive I'm among a select few that has actually herded goats in that area. The ultimate weapon against kudzu.
What is it with West Midtown and goats?!?! LOL

Quote:The Goat Farm Arts Center has had an interesting past. Built during the 1880s, it was originally the E. Van Winkle Gin and Machine Works, often referred to as “The Works,” a manufacturing plant for award winning cotton gins distributed to farms across the country. During WWII, production was altered to help with the war effort. They shifted to producing to ammunition and mortars. The 1970s brought an influx of artists and musicians following The Works purchase by the eccentric Robert Haywood, a former Army Ranger and industrial engineer known for pedaling all over the property in a gold hard hat, khaki shorts and boots, brandishing a shotgun to scare off pesky developers. Haywood would be the man to bring the goats on the property in order to fight back the growth of the kudzu plant that runs rampant over all over the southeast United States. Following Haywood’s death in 2009, The Goat Farm fell into disuse. Fast forward to July 2010, The Goat Farm was purchased by Hallister Development in order to preserve the property as an art-friendly community.

That's what I remember them saying.
This thread makes me wonder why anybody would live in Atlanta
So I hear there is a gathering at the Dome tomorrow.
I like in 30316 in the city and I came home to deer grazing n my front yard and then I ordered Chinese food delivery. My wife works for an insurance agent on Peachtree Street in Modtown. If she can run off bums as she frequently does then you get an idea of the mild exaggeration. Are there rough areas? Yep. There are in Macon, Augusta, Rome and Savannah too.

Baltimore is as bad as it gets in the states.

Not all equally bad but varying degrees. Honestly the less apt complexes the safer I felt. Hard for the crack head to congregate in large lot subs. I have stories is for just about everyone of those areas. In one of your "nicer" zips was appraising a vacant foreclosure and thank sweet 8lb 6oz baby Jesus the yard was grown up because the gang next door was about to smoke a dude over drugs and did not notice me next door. The dude was able to talk his way out of it. That was standard experience anything south of 20 or anywhere in W ATL.
