After a healthy dose of the Varsity my first stop is usually somewhere else.

Probably the first time a trip to the Varsity has been referred to as healthy.
This writer (and apparently Coach Miles) thinks they lost to Boone weather last year.

I know the Varsity is supposed to be some kind of "Institution" in Atlanta but every time I have eaten there I have gotten sick. Haven't eaten there in years. Just too greasy for me.

Same here.

Without fail... I regret eating at the Varsity after each visit.

Anyone looking for breakfast before tailgating, I highly recommend The Flying Biscuit.

I think the Varsity is one of those things that you're supposed to go to just to say you went.

Been living in Georgia for 32 years and never ate there though.

I'm not a huge fan of the Flying Biscuit, but it is pretty good. They try a little too hard to stick to the whole foods thing. If I'm going out for breakfast I want real sausage, not turkey sausage. The Silver Skillet is my recommendation for downtown breakfast. http://silverskillet.com

For after the game I'd recommend No Mas Cantina. It's a fun upscale Mexican Restaurant. Great place for out of town'ers. http://www.nomascantina.com

Also the Smoke Ring is really good BBQ and not far from the Dome.

The Varsity wasn't good when I went.

The Flying Biscuit was ok, but it is too small. If you don't mind waiting then go for it.

Reminds me of an Alabama game against Kentucky when Alabama had a big lead and Nick Saban was running out the clock. Alabama was close to the red zone with a couple minutes left. Nick Saban was not wanting to score. He was running out the clock. Well after a run intended to run some clock Kentucky called a timeout. After another run Kentucky called another timeout. It pissed Nick Saban off and the next play he ran a fake FG for the first down and then had his QB throw to the end zone.

Have scoured the web for parking info. Surely you have to pay to park. How much? Any link would be helpful

Official Dome parking is usually $10 for our games

Eaten at both the Atlanta location and Athens, never gotten sick. Love those chilli cheese burgers and fries. Having grown up and live in Winder, Ga a trip down the road to Athens wasnt complete unless a stop a the Varsity is included. We used to have season tickets to the LadyDogs hoops games, which wasn't a great investment, but cheaper than the men's. Never left Stegman without a stop at the Varsity.
If they opened one in Statesboro, I don't think anyone would complain.

Who said anything about it being healthy?

I've never had an issue or regret after eating there. My cardiologist probably wouldn't be too happy about it. If it's as bad as all the horror stories say it is the place would ave been out of business years ago.
GO PANTHERS!

How are ticket sales going for this game Appys? Hope you guys bring a crew to the game to help with the atmosphere!

Jerry Moore did that against South Carolina State in the FCS playoffs a few years back. Game was over and App was just running down the clock inside their own 30. SCS coach kept calling timeouts to be a dick. So they threw a 70 yard long bomb TD pass. SCS coach after the game said he deserved it.

I was at that game and completely forgot about that happening. Priceless really. My original thought on that was that Jerry isn't just an old man with no ego. He flexed it in that call and showed some attitude. Looking back on that and Satterfields propensity to do the same thing, I'd say this staff is finally getting back to the cohesion that was around from 2004 to 2011 or so.
