I'm looking forward to it

I know it runs contra to the current thinking in college football but I'm not a big fan of the neutral site games. No one knows what they're doing and the crowds are never great. Give me a home and home any day. I went to the game @UCF in 2013 and it was a great time - everyone there was fired up and the atmosphere was great.
Go Cocks ! Hope you guys put the hurt locker on the boys in baby blue tonight!

ECU bounces back in the USNWR. Now only about 50 spots behind Ole Miss. So if we beat Florida in the swamp this weekend with our backup QB & without our best deep threat WR (suspended) can we get that coveted invite yet?

Pirates have another chance this Saturday to show our SECesque Mojo...taking on Florida in the Swamp!

Go Pirates!
As expected ECU vs Florida was competitive. Tough loss as ECU had opportunities and did not get it done. Surprisingly was a smaller final score difference than the bowl game. 7 versus 8.

Truly improve your academics and one day you'll be in a P5. E.C.U. is fine, just not ripe yet.
I see ECU being in a reformed Big 12 with a few AAC schools and current Big 12 members.

I personally wouldn't mind seeing ECU in the SEC, but as long as there is the chance of NC State or UNC coming on board one day then I don't see it happening.

These are my personal beliefs, #1) I foresee the ACC getting their network from ESPN and staying put, the lone exception is VT and the ACC back fills with WVU. Along with VT the SEC adds ECU to grab the Virginia and NC markets. #2) Texas agrees to the Big 12 Network to replace the Long Horn Network and stabilize the conference and replaces the WVU loss with SMU and picks up either UCONN & Cincy or UCF & USF to get to 12. Big 10 stays pat and if the Pac decides to expand from there they add Boise and BYU.

That's the scenario I'd like to see. My little pipe dream if you will.
I will say the same thing to ECU fans that I say to Cincy fans. Just be patient, the AAC is going to be a stronger and more profitable entity than it is right now. When that happens it will be a great avenue for a program like ECU to achieve the kind of National identity that it desires. I honestly don't think the big 12 is a good move for ECU to make. I think an invite to the SEC would be impossible to turn down and it would turn ECU into the strongest football program in North Carolina, possibly. I don't see that as being probable at this point though.

Stay strong, when the AAC goes to 20 teams, dominate your division and go on to win in the AAC tournament. It will be a more viable route to the CFP than being in the SEC would be.
We took out another ACC team (VT). 5-0 now vs the ACC and Swofford including win streaks over UNC and NC State.

Happy to be the Rep in NC. Go Pirates

ECU is now Tier 1 my friend. 07-coffee3
Arghhhh! Shiver me timbers! Thar be Pirates! :)
Hows that ECU and SEC doing now? Yall fired your coach and went from having a couple really good seasons to terrible. That was my point in not being consistent enough where you are to be attractive enough for the invite. You probably have decent enough facilities but you football team isn't consistent enough where you are now. Great programs don't have years like you have had and be really good and then be terrible. Programs have off years, but you are in the AAC, and if yall want to have SEC consideration you should be dominating that conf every year. Just like I said GaSouthern was FBS worthy because they dominated their level, and are still winning after moving to FBS.
Hmm I am really excited about what the future holds. I really like Coach Mo. I am excited for what he is bringing, the new coaches.

I am excited about the Expansion of Dowdy Ficklen, plans are being announced in Feb.

W are making the choices to win Championships, and especially in AAC, it will be hard earned. Basketball is picking up, baseball is going to be rockkkk solid. We had a rough season, but boy are we about to find ourselves. I think two things are going to happen over the next two years.

1. Our defense is going to win us some championships.
2. Going to go back to running more, and with a solid Quarterback competition, and not bouncing between 2 3th and 4th stringers will great. Run + Pass+ Defence. ECU and the Deathly Hallows.

Nothing but Purple Skies ahead =P
At least ECU will have an SEC quality football stadium here soon. Even before this new expansion DFS already holds 10k more than Vanderbilt & the football culture in Greenville is already SEC like. So let's quit wasting time & just go ahead & pull the trigger SEC!

How many will the newly renovated stadium seat?

I would say around 53,000, we could probably add more seats in the future above the boneyard and bring capacity up to 60,000. I think we will have the best stadium in the State of North Carolina once this is completed.
It is a very nice stadium but ECU has other hurdles.

Agreed, however I would argue that those hurdles are more superficial than substantive. Once you look past the surface there are a lot of benefits that ECU could bring to the SEC that would substantially outweigh any detriments. Further, academics are on the rise. It's nothing to write home about but ECU is only 30 spots behind Miss St. in the latest USNWR. If the SEC did take the chance on ECU in conjunction with a blue blood (eg. Oklahoma) it would be the perfect way for the SEC to hedge its bets. ECU would be the premiere football school of the state (if not already) but it would also be a dagger to the entire ACC (particularly the NC schools) without having to poach any of their members.
