I have a feeling the general/casual sports fan would agree.

I'm not sure why that's so offensive to the Memphis folk.

Because that’s our decision to make...not the ‘casual fans’ call

Be sure to watch us in the Liberty Bowl 07-coffee3

What's a Liberty Bowl? What do you get if you win it?

2.4 million dollars...

I'm not offended and agree with you. Memphis has been in the national championship game twice in basketball. Football has been an afterthought for years. I'm glad to see that is changing in football. Now if we can just get basketball back on track.

Can the Tubbah.

Go get a good, young coach that can recruit the studs in our own city.

Run the conference.

It's as easy as that.

Must be a lot of pain in your past then. What, 2 bowls over a nearly 50 year span? Ouchies. Memphis Basketball is where it's at... or was.

Research is your friend. Good to see you're still showing your ignorance, Dumbazz. Basketball only school 03-yawn

Yeah, I don't even understand how he was trying to frame that. We started playing football in 1912. We went to the Burley Bowl in 1956, and the Pasadena Bowl in 1971, so that's 2 bowl games in 59 years. But in all fairness, we didn't play D-1a until 1960, so we didn't have access to traditional bowl games. Then, if you start with the Burley Bowl in 1956, and go to 2003 (New Orleans Bowl), that's 2 bowls in 47 years... Yeah, I don't know what he's driving at.

I was framing it exactly how I was reading it off Wiki: 2 bowls in nearly 50 years... Why the confusion? I'm certainly not privy to the particulars of why you weren't offered bowls throughout the 20th century, only that you did not enjoy them for almost 5 generations.

Memphis basketball is where your richest tradition lies, make no mistake about it.

Soooo... in Wichita, Kansas, 50 years = 5 generations.... That explains a lot.

I mean, the most insulting and derogatory framing of our history would have said "only 2 bowls in 91 years."

But that would be a bit like accusing Wichita State of not having been able to reach a bowl in all the years since 1961.
