I get the idea that we need better players.
What I don't understand is, if your strength is the defensive line, why do our DB's play 7-8 yards off the line on 3rd and 4? It just does not make sense at any level.
And when your LB's are, let's say "young", you can't have your safeties playing 20 yards deep. They are too deep for run support.
Also, there was a game earlier this year where our DT's crossed each other on a stunt at our 2 yard line. As far as I know, that is the first time in the history of modern football that a stunt like that was called for in a goal line situation.
And as for Brian Scott:
4 things are most likely to happen if you pass:
1. Completion
2. Incompletion
3. Interception
4. Defensive Pass Interference
Throw the damn ball on 3rd and long.
Also, the most difficult pass to defend is a crossing route (if run remotely correct). Why we don't pass the ball over the middle is beyond me. The few times we do is often successful. USE THE WHOLE FIELD!!!!
